I paid $111 CDN for my dress from ebay. I only wanted to spend around $100 for my dress and wanted it to be something I could either wear again or dye and wear again. I'm very happy with my choice!

I just bought my dress yesterday and thought I would see what other people spent. I first went to one of the oldest shops in Winnipeg, where my mom bought hers 29 years ago and fell in love with a Venus dress. It was $600, which is pretty reasonable. We decided to look around a bit more, but after a few shops nothing compared to how I looked in this dress. But on a lark we decided to try one more store and I found the exact same dress for $485. Needless to say we picked it up then and there! I was shocked I even bought one on my first day out! My alterations should be under $100, so at the end of the day that's not too shabby. I didn't really have a budget, but the price is totally reasonable!

My dress was 1000.00 and it didn't need any alterations. The only thing I had to pay for was the bustle, which was 85.00 and my veil was free. My dress for the TTD was 100.00 on ebay so I spent less than what I budgeted for, which was 1500.00

I bought my dres for 698, 120 for custom length and 85 for alterations. Total cost of my dress is $903. I'm going to try and wear it 3 times, wedding day, TTD and AHR. I might have it altered into a cocktail length dress for my AHR so that would add to the cost. We'll see though. I might not have the heart to cut it up when it comes down to it.

I really didn't want to spend over $1000 on my dress (including alterations) because I wanted to spend more money on the actual trip. My parents and my future in-laws are paying for the wedding and I really didn't want to kill them in the process. My dress is $750 before alterations. I tried on over 20 dresses and was convinced that I wasn't going to find my dress. The dress I loved before I found "my dress" was $1900 and I was not ready to spend that much. I absolutely love the dress I found. It's very simple but has that little bit of something extra. Very unique.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
