Hi jilly76,

Thanks for all the usefully info. My name is sherry and new to this website. I'm also getting married in Dreams cancun this year in November. Do you know if there are any additional charge for dinner reception? If yes, how much more money do we have to pay?

You earn points by posting messages, pictures, links. And then to open attachments it usually costs 50 points. If I had any points myself, I'd donate them to you... but sadly I don't. Hopefully someone will be able to, otherwise, start posting! :)

Pipi-

Which package are you going with? The two higher end packages include a cocktail hour and dinner reception for up to 20 people. If you go over 20 people, there is an additional per person charge. We are going with the "Ultimate" package that includes 1 hour of the "gold" cocktail hour and the "gold" dinner for up to 20 people. We are expecting more like 60 guests. The gold cocktail hour is $20 per extra person, and the gold dinner $40. So we're talking $60/person for the additional 40 or so guests. There is also a "silver" option for both, which is slightly less, and a "platinum" option which is more (I think $30/person for cocktail and $45/person for dinner). For dinner, you have the option of doing sit-down service (everyone has the same entree) or buffet service (guests have a choice of three entrees). I think we are going to go with the buffet so that there are more food choices. All the food sounded very good, so I don't know how we'd choose. If you PM me, I can e-mail you the cocktail and dinner packages to take a look at. I hope thjs helps! Good Luck!

Ok...my fi and I decided to go with the smallest wedding package, which doesn't include any coktail hour or reception. somehow it ended up working better for us because we are having ~80 people and the larger packages include so much stuff we don't need (like photographer videographer, etc...). Claudia told us that we could mix and match the silver and gold menu options. Did she tell you guys that too? Since we wanted to have a sit down dinner, she is letting us pick two entrees to put on our invitation for our guests to choose from. She said that as long as we got the number of each meals to her in advance, it would be fine with her if we offered two choices, instead of just giving everyone the same thing. Did any of you also get this option?

Sometimes it seems like all of us Dreams brides are talking to totally different WCs there. She doesn't seem to be very consistent in what she tells/gives any of us. I know that one bride had posted a "vip" bouquet options that I was never given (ps that's for posting it because I found what I want in that ppt) and different cake stuff, etc. Any of you girls feel the same wayhuh.gif

In regards to the bouquet I think there are different options depending on which package you choose. I am doing the Ultimate package which says that it includes an upgraded bridal bouquet, so I'm thinking the VIP one may be for that package, but I'm not positive. I didn't ask about giving two options for dinners.

Did anyone get a reply about the ipod sound system? I had emailed Claudia about it and she just replied by attaching the same music price list that she sent me earlier (and it doesn't have anything about an ipod on it).

Ohh, she also gave me a quote on an additional gazebo decoration (its not the official document from the resort but i just copied the photo and pasted the prices she gave me).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
