Reception Locations at Majestic Elegance

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies!! I hope I will be allowed to post this post.. For some reason I have not been able to comment or reply to my PM's for the last week. :o((((( I'm dying without my girls!!! But we have for sure decided on having a reception at the Majestic Elegance.. But we are wondering which space to use.. Parrots Bar or Wet Bar. I would LOVE to hear your advice and see your pictures. :o) We are thinking of opting out from paying the bartender fee's as many of our guests wont drink and we can't justify the costs when it's an all inclusive resort. Plus we are having an at home reception in Georgia when we return home. But I would like the location we choose to have a bar close by. :o)

Don't you have to pay for a drink package/bartender if you have a private reception at either the Wet Bar or Parrots Bar? That's what my WC told me...I, like you,  don't see the point of a drink package/bartender seeing as how the resort is all inclusive, but thats what she told me...Please let me know!! I did book the Wet Bar, based on pics of receptions my WC sent me. Plus it has cover in case it rains! (hopefully it won't)

how many guests do you expect? We are thinking maybe 30 and if so it's a tad cheaper to go with a custom package.. 1350 for National bar for 30, DJ, Venue.. Whereas the Package is 1550 for the same thing. But of course everything boils down to the number of guests.. One concern I have is...... do they count each head at the reception or only those old enough to drink? This is sooo weird, and annoying.. I can only post comments if I open the full page editor. Still can't reply to my PM's.. :o(

i'm not exactly sure yet, maybe 30-40? I would imagine that they wouldn't count kids for example, but i don't know about other people who wouldn't drink because how would they be able to keep tabs on who is drinking and who's not? Are you using the resort dj? ugh some of this stuff is so annoying to plan!! LOL.

That's true.. I'm sure you would count all adults... surely not children though. If you have over 30 guests it will probably be cheaper to go with the packaged reception as it is for up for 60 guests.. I wish I had our numbers now. :-/

We will probably end up going with the resort DJ. I think going with them is $300-400 cheaper. And with us having an at home reception also, it makes sense for us to save as much as possible to work in both receptions.I've read great reviews on the resort DJ also though. I'd love to just use an iPod.. but idk.. I do know the last time I went to a wedding the DJ got on my nerves! lol..

Oh and I went ahead and booked the wet bar. Def a great idea in the event of rain. And also I read that the max persons for the parrot bar is 50 guests... While I don't think we will have that many guests.... I still don't want us to be cramped and no room for dancing, just in case.

Where did you find reviews for the resort dj? I"m thinking of booking DJ Mannia, but haven't yet.

I also wish we knew how many people are really going!! We aren't having an at home reception.

Hello Ladies

I am hoping one of you can help me with my question.  We are having a private dinner on the Beach  at 6:30 and as I understand, we have that location for 3 hours? (Is this correct with all private functions) Therefore, in your opinion do you think i need to book more time for a reception?  I figured we could all go to the piano bar after 9:30 and then for those that wanted to continue the party - could make their way to the disco at 11pm.  Any thoughts???
Thanks in advance!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
