I'm currently booked at HRPC for Feb 2014, but we are finding rates way too high for our guests. We're flying out of Toronto... Love the resort but pretty sure I'm going to have to switch. Unless I just move to a different month, April or May perhaps? How is everyone finding the rates for next year?

I am currently waiting for my TA to get me rates for the HRPC. If they are too high then we will stick with Paradisus Punta Cana

We are getting married in January 2014 and if you like I can inbox you our rates. There will be a difference because we are out of Philadelphia.

We are getting married at HRPC on April 11/2014. Yay! Rates are pricey but we really wanted this resort so pushed our TA and we got prices we could live with. Our choice was between HRPC and Dreams (apparently both resorts have all food tendered by USA Costco). Based on a friend's experience getting married at HRPC in 2012, the resort credit and the overall resort amenities we decided on HRPC. We are dealing Mia in Miami as well and she seems really helpful so far. Struggling with which photographer to use? Any advice? Congrats to everyone on your engagements and upcoming weddings :) Happy planning

I was hoping to do a rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants, but I have heard that you cannot have over a table of 10 people at the restaurants and will have to do a private event.  Does anyone know what that ranges if you cannot get enough room nights for a paid private event?

Hi ladies! It's been so long since I have Been able to get on here. S2bebride I think it's 50$ a person for a private function I will check my documents today because I am having a welcome dinner the night before my wedding as well. I'm having my welcome dinner at the Eden pool and I'm also having a cocktail hour and a 4 hour reception in one of the ballrooms. I'm basically done with the planning process and my wedding is march 8th 2014. If any one has questions let me Know I have tons of info from the resort and from the decorations company. I worked directly with them because Miami was charging me double for the decor I picked out. I also did not chose the photographer on site I wasn't crazy about their work. I booked HDC because of their great reviews on here

Hello KerriAnn5! It's Barry again. Thanks for the guidance on the site visit you gave me in February......we booked our site visit soon after. We are going next week to take a much needed vacation and to solidify the final plans for our January 2014 wedding. We are both very visual so we have to go or we won't feel comfortable about picking a place for the wedding and reception. I have to admit the we were a little hesitant about booking with HRPC in December but since we have worked with Jennifer, who recently left, we have not had any problems or issues. I My fiancée works the Facebook wedding pages for DR brides and I do the Punta Cana blogs on this site and all we hear is....get there and get your hooks into your wedding planner. I plan to do just that!!!

We are also having a welcome event at the Eden Pool on Friday evening. We have been confirmed to have our reception at the Element Terrace but we are not sure if we want to have it outside But we will decide by the time that we leave next week. The good thing about it is that we far exceed the room nights count for the two free three hours events so that helps in the pockets.  We have already decided to not use the on-site photographer and videographer.....we didn't hear great things either. Well thanks again......I check in from time to time since I am pretty active in the planning of our wedding.

How are you ladies able to confirm locations for private functions already, my planner is renee, and she is extremely short and vague always! If you pay for a function, do you get a list of site to choose from vs. when you have enough room nights that it is covered for you? Keriann, how were you able to get an off site decor company? i feel that I know so little about the entire process and my coordinator is not very hands on or good at communicating

Also when is everyone sending out invitations, I saw somewhere that you have to have numbers confirmed and everything paid 60 days out, so does that mean replies need to be in 2 months before hand as well, it just seems so early to send invites out 4 months ahead of time?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
