what makeup do you think will not "melt" (or last longer) air brushing? Regular makeup?

What do you recommend? Anyone test this out yet?

Thanks!!

I went to Sephora pre-wedding, and had a two hour consultation (and spent $400) on an entire new face. The hourglass veil primer and the Makeup Forever Base and Powder worked amazingly, and looked flawless! I also love the Too Faced bronzer, very natrual and long lasting.

The spa at my resort did have all MAC products, but I chose to use my own primer, base, powder, and bronzer, and just let them do my eyes!!!  It is inevitable you will sweat, and cry, but this makeup withstood it pretty well! Good luck!

I meant to say, I'm still trying to decide between doing my own make-up and hiring someone. I love the look of airbrush, but it might not be in our budget, so I'm also thinking of how I might do my own face, especially what products to use, in case it comes to that.

my wedding package actually inclued wedding day make-up, but considering that I've had more failed makeup consultations than success, I thought I was better off doing my own or at least be prepared to do a complete re-do if I end up hating how I look after the resort spa was finished with me.  Let me know if you want the names of the waterproof mascara and eye liner that I also purchased.  I have all of it at home and can check later.

MAC really does have the best pigments for eyeshadow.  And I'm glad the hourglass veil primer worked well for you too, it gives me added confidence in selecting it.

Thanks.  Yes, I would like to know the eyeliner and especially mascara.  No matter what mascara I use, I often end up with dark circles under my eyes from it.  While I don't have an oily face, I think the area around my eyes is an exception.  Eyeshadow always creases on me, as well, no matter the type or brand.

Make sure to hydrate under your eyes, a good eye cream is by MAC, then do concealer on top. I always use a primer on my eyes to resist the crease, I like the eye primer by Too Faced.

Okay, since eyeshadow always creases on you, I have to assume that you've never tried Urband Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion - it's magic in a tube!  I've been using this stuff for a few years now and nothing else compares.  I have never seen a crease in my lid and this stuff really helps bring out the true pigmentation in shadows. You can actually get this at Nordstrom Rack for half the price of what it retails for in Sephora.  I have also heard really good things about Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but have never used it myself. I also tried MAC's Underground Primer and had creasing in about 4 hours - no good.

I decided to do individual lash extensions for the wedding, but I really like Lancomes Lash Power Mascara. And for eyeliner I went with Stilla Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.

Thanks.  I'll try a few things out before the big day and see what works for me.

Thank you!  I've used various primers, but they all tend to crease on me, too.  I'll give your recommendations a try, and I appreciate the Nordstrom Rack tip!  I rarely go there, so I wouldn't have known otherwise.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
