Hey Bre,

My Bridesmaid flies in from Calgary this week so we are going dress shopping for them on Thursday (EXCITING)... My girls are going to wear deep purple. I only have 2 girls in my wedding party (+ my flower girl who will probably wear white with a purple waist band or something.) Now, for the guys - I have no clue. My FH doesn't want me to get involved in what he wears... but I HAVE to! Lol.

I've suggested grey linen with a purple tie (a vest with no jacket, sleeves rolled up... LOVE IT) but he apparently doesn't like grey because it is gloomy. I really don't think a beige suit can incorporate any purple, it just won't work. I have potentially sold him on a light grey suit (borderline white, but not quite...) But I will only be using Turquoise to accent the purple wherever I can.

We've definitely challenged ourselves with these colours, but I love them so - Challenge Accepted.

My fiance said the same thing about what he's wearing. He said " I had no choice in choosing your dress- that was your own experience. It should be the same for my suit."luckily- he has pretty impeccable taste and my friend owns and operates a Custom Clothiers Company and his suit is being custom made by her. I did argue with my mom and my bridesmaids a tad because they said- what if he picks something that doesn't match our dresses? and I told them we would wait to buy dresses and buy them to match his suit. I think its only fair. So I kept my options for dresses open and showed him my choices. For each choice he picked a suit that would match. When he chose his suit, we just picked the dress that went best with it. Fortunately- the bridesmaids first choice ended up being the one that matched his suit best.

I looooove the grey and purple combination. I wanted him to pick that and then we would have gone with turquoise dresses. He ended up picking a dark grey suit with a pattern that has faint blue lines. The suit looks more blue than grey actually, so our girls went with a peacock jewel tones dress. I had several palette options for my color scheme- but I let him pick his suit first.

OMG I can't wait to get married! LOL It feels so far away. It's just when you are working overtime to pay for your wedding, and attending the pre-cana religious courses, and shopping for things online- all the pieces make you eager with anticipation. woot.gifLets get this show on the road...anyone wonder what the heck they will pool all their energy into once they get married?

Going back to school for me so I can get a promotion. I am currently a teacher and hoping to get into a program to become a school principal. Not as fun as planning a wedding though... lol

Haha! It`s true. Wedding planning is consuming all my free time. Personally, I am hoping for a Honeymoon Baby!! Lol. So I hope to pool my energy into pregnancy, building a nursery and planning for a baby! woot.gif

I want a honeymoon baby too! But that would certainly interfere with school. Plus the hubby was thrilled when I told him I was considering going back to school because although I am ready for my honeymoon baby- he is not. He says he wants to enjoy being married, just the two of us for a little, but I think he's secretly scared. I don't want to push him before he's ready. He is more like "financially I want to be sound and we should buy a house first" and I tell him "no one is ever financially ready for a baby." LOL Except maybe millionaires who can pay for private hospitals and nannies and chefs and guest houses for their nannies and chefs.

Lol. It's true. No one is every financially "ready" for a baby. Lucky for me, my man has 8 years on me, and was probably ready for a baby a couple years ago. But I want to be married first. We've lived together in his home for 4 years now... so I think we're as ready as we're ever going to be.

Sweet. Same for me- somewhat. I wanted to be married first. Got a lot of flak for that oddly enough. It's =just a thing I have. I know nowadays marriage doesn't equal security but it's important for me. Good for you for waiting!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
