Hello,

My name is Laurie. I have a wedding booked at Dreams Cancun Spa and Resort on Feb. 4, 2008. We are having about 50 guests book at the hotel. We are having the reception on the beach with a dinner buffet. We are thinking of purchasing the Ultimate Wedding Package and a DJ. Can someone advise me if this is worth the money?

Welcome to the forum Laurie! Wow, you have a good sized group already booked at your resort! I don't know the package there at Dreams Cancun but we personally are opting to just bring our own mp3 player and have the playlists in place according to the evening's events. Quite a few brides from this forum have done this and it worked out well for them. Good luck and happy planning! cheer2.gif

Hi Laurie! I get married there on Feb 2nd! Maybe I will see you there!

I am having the Ultimate package, no dj, think we will take care of that ourselves. We will have between 40-50 as well.

You can do a search on here for Dreams Cancun and see a loooong thread we have been adding things to all the time.

Let me know if you have any other Dreams questions!

I'm getting married there too but not till August 7th. I'm also choosing the Ultimate package and having the reception on the beach. I am getting the DJ however I do think its kind of pricey. One of our brides, Susan, is getting married there next week and is using the DJ service as well. I'm hoping she has nothing but good things to say about them.

You'll find tons of info on this site for your resort. Have fun planning!

I'm getting married there in two weeks, we are doing the gazebo for the ceremony, the garden for the cocktail hour and the terrace for the reception.

When I was looking I priced everything out seperately and it was as much as the package for just cocktail hour & reception, without all the other stuff. I think the package is totally worth it.

We're not using a DJ, we're bringing our IPOD & docking station because I think the fee they charge for their sound system is a rip off (180/hour, just to use the system, not for anyone to run it!)

Let me know if you need any help and welcome to the forum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
