Honestly I just want to get married and make babies and buy a house. I spent all my life dreaming of this perfect wedding and discovered its a bitch to plan. I just got into a fight with my sisters- they are twins, both supposed to be bridesmaids and both of them are not coming. They told me its too much money. My sisters. the same people who encouraged me to have a destination wedding in the first place because a wedding in the states was typical, not my style, and boring. I planned it for Mexico- my sister complained. She already was planning a visit to DR. I switched partly because of her. Now she isn't coming.

I cried to my fiance that we should have just eloped. I hope things work out but I'm not feeling optimistic at all. I would have better look throwing my invitation on Craigslist than sending it to my family.

Hey!! I had to laugh at your post that you feel like eloping everyday. I already have the kids and a house with my fiance. We got engaged a little over a year ago in St. John, found out I was preggo with twins in September...our wedding was supposed to be this past summer, but since we had the twins we pushed it to 7/2013....talk about trying to plan a wedding, working full-time, and 8 month old twins at home. Sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out!! lol just had to share.

Hello :) I'm new on here as well and didn't realize I needed to post 150 times! lol. I don't really have a color scheme, my main color is like a baby blue/teal. That will be the color of my bridesmaid dresses, and table lines and sashes. Happy planning!

My color scheme is similar- You don't necessarily need 150 posts- but you do if you want to open attachments. IUt's really not too big of a deal. Most people wont attach things- they put the picture in the body of the post using the image icon. I have seen plenty and posted my own even though I haven't reached 150.

I call the teal "peacock" because the designer of my bridesmaid dress calls the color peacock- although it has confused some of the bridesmaids haha. We are going with a palette of blues as our color scheme- aqua, navy, and peacock. Recently Davids bridal posted a picture with all three saying it was the trend this year. I was like "hey now don't give away my ideas" haha.

oh ok. I thought the 150 posts was some thing i didn't know about because sometimes my posts aren't added right away and I get a comment box saying they need to be reviewed before posting since I'm new.

I didn't think of "peacock" it makes me think of turquoise...I guess its sort of a turquoise, but darker? LOL. I like the blue palette. I wanted blue or pink and of course blue won since my FI doesn't want anything pink...he's lucky blue is my other favorite color! What do your bridesmaid dresses look like? I haven't started dress shopping, but I think I should get on it soon as I was told it could take a few months to get bridesmaid and wedding dress? I was just trying to hold off as long as possible. Still trying to lose this baby weight :/

I posted my dresses in the bridesmaid thread  but I'll post here too. I picked out my dress in April because it was being custom made but they worked on quicker than they said and it was ready in August- Initially they told me 9 months to make it! So its sitting in a vault. Bridemaids dresses- it depends- if you buy off the rack you can get them with minimal time but if you want a particular one you'll need time. I went bridesmaids looking a few weeks ago but my bridesmaids want to lose weight before committing to a dress so we will resume shopping in February- our wedding is in July- I think thats enough time.

This is the girls dress:

And here is my color scheme-

My fiances suit is a dark gray with blue.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
