Thanks Ladies..the whole thing about the pants just pisses me off.   I am going to go back myself and try again and then try another of the same stores because it's totally bullshit.

MissDe- honestly from what I've seen from resort Photographers you're probably better off!!  Sometimes the Resort Photog's kinda suck and are literally the same guys who walk around with monkey's and iguana's and take photos' of people on the beach with them. definitely not pro's.

My Balloons were white, green and purple - those are my colors.   I originally wanted the chinese lanterns, but they told me they could not hang them so I can't use those..so that's why I thought balloons would be perfect - light, easy to carry, and then they said they could blow them up with helium.  Obviously lost in translation because they don't have helium there.

Jolene - for the group quotes for 2012 vs 2013...it sucks she made a mistake..you're still early for the 2013 packages so maybe wait a few weeks and then try again for quotes?  Also it might be a good idea to shop around a bit - find a destination wedding specialist or group travel specialist in your area.  As for flights from Winnipeg - better to know now, than to book it and then have them cancel it later, which does happen!    I bet if you just wait and re-request the rates it'll get a bit better.  I too think $1900 for anywhere in Varadero is a bit high.  My price is $1600 per person for early Dec for my group from Edmonton..Calgary should be similar you'de think.

I really hope things work out.  Is the policy in writing? And do you have the receipt from the last purchase? Also, correspondence: do you have the quoted price written down? try to fight it all.  I know it's a hassle but its not right.  good luck!

I agree! Stress free is the goal. We have to all keep in touch. I am hoping to have 90% done 3 months prior which means by thanksgiving 2013 I want to be done so I can enjoy turkey day, christmas, new years and our valentines day wedding. #irie

I agree |about the keeping in touch I am sure that there will be plenty more that we have to complain whine and bitch about plus all the good stuff that we will share together over the next year!

I really havent started other than trying to get the travel agangements organized, and I have my DIY Boarding passes pretty much done on the computer and save to a flash drive (incase something happens to my computer) but other than that I havent even bought paper or anything for them, I am not entirely sure why I am holding off, I am sure that I will regret that, especially the more time I spend on here the more stuff I want to do for my wedding. Actually today I am going dress shopping for the first time!!!

I emailed our resort's photographer twice and asked our WC to contact them, because I wasn't hearing from them (still haven't heard anything from them to this day). This was at least 3 weeks ago. So, instead of going with the resort's photographer and saving us the $300 outside vendor fee, we are going with a different photographer. Even if we have to suck it up and pay an ungodly amount of money just to have another photographer come in, it will be worth it not to use the resort's photographer that can't even respond to a simple email.

I would pay the money to have a photographer that I could trust, there is no way that you need to add the extra stuff... although I have read that a lot of time it takes people at the resort forever to get back to you about things, but that is neither here nor there and waiting 3 weeks is not cool no matter what! That really sucks but dont worry it will all work out!

Oh I just realized.... this is my 150 post!!!! YAY I have been waiting a long time for this, maybe I should have just paid to be a supporter so that it didnt take this much work, although I am not sure that I would have contributed as much if I didnt have to work for it, and then I wouldnt have been ablt to share and talk toa ll of you!!!!!!! Templates here I come!!!!!

Congrats Jolene!!  I am only a few posts away!  Honestly I wouldn't have minded paying, but I didn't see anywhere to pay..I'm not really computer saavy..so it's easier for me to just make posts lol.

I'm bringing 2 photographers with me (that was their package, 2 for the price of 1), and it worked out great because we got 2 free passengers for the trip due to our group size, so we only paid taxes and their package price.

So anyways..Cherie - I had planned on having everything done 3 months before and then summer hit and I got seriously lazy..and now I'm scrambling.  But at this point I've decided I'm not planning anything else,   basically I tried planning it perfectly and things werent working out, and I was just disappointed, so now I'm going to just take it as it comes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
