No Mess Aisle Runners

Recommended Posts

Good Morning Ladies!

I know there were a few comments within a forum about no mess aisle runners that were found on WeddingBee... But I can't seem to find that thread so I thought I'd create a new forum especially for these aisle runners. I'm hoping we can share tips, tricks and pictures. :o)

I ordered my rose petals from Ebay.

Here is the sellers page if anyone is interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330701699382?var=540058228007&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I purchased the following:

1000 Cream

2000 Hot Pink

1000 Orange

1000 Pink

I was surprised by the size of my package I received..

700

but then relized I needed to peel the petals apart. There are 100 per package.

Last night I started peeling and got about 600 of each color. So far I have almost a full grocery sack of each color. I'll post pictures tonight. Hopefully I can start affixing these to my tulle by Wednesday. :o) (School tonight and tomorrow.)

If anyone has already completed their aisle runners, I would love to see pictures! Also curious as to how many petals you had to use or plan to use.  I purchased (2) rolls of 6 inch x 25 foot white tulle from HobbyLobby while it was on sale for 50% off.

So how do you attach them to the tulle? And then it's one long piece of tulle you roll back up and bring it with you to the resort? I haven't heard of this before! Another DIY I love it :)

I just completed at least 10 feet. My eyes and back are killing me! lol.. I attached the petals with hot glue to the tulle. To store/travel I will simply roll it up. :o)

Ahhh, you're always one step ahead of me.  We were talking about this in the May 2013 thread, so you wouldn't have found it in a thread search. I've been distracting myself with other quick DIY projects, I'm a bit reluctant to take this on because I know it will time consuming and to get a the petals in the colors I want will be more than I wanted to spend.  You're off to a great start so far.  Keep us posted with your progress and tips and tricks.

Ahh.. I thought that was where it was!.. but we talk sooo much I couldn't find it. lol.

I think I only spent $20 on petals. :o) I've completed at least 10 foot and have just barely dented my stash. I started the project last night after school and was amazed at how much I completed.

Best Tip.. Don't use wax paper!!!! I don't know where I read this, but it was the worst tip I have ever read. :o( Wax paper did not want to let go of my tulle and I ripped a few holes. I am now using a baking sheet that I sprayed down with PAM..  you don't have to fight with the pan to let go.. :o) This made things go by much smoother and faster. :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
