Hi Everyone,

I have recently got engaged and we are considering doing a destination wedding. We are looking into Aruba & Mexico as options. We are open to any suggestions, but we have a few concerns. We are both malayalee (South Indian) but we are different religions. We want to perform both services in one day and we are looking for a time frame of late Aug- Sept 2013. I know that hurricane season is also something to keep in mind. We are looking to provide a great destination wedding but also a great vacation feel for our guests.

Has anyone had experience with any of this? did the travel agent help a lot & the hotel coordinator or did you use a wedding planner? how many times did you visit the area before the wedding? how have interfaith marriage ceremonies been performed?

Any help or suggestions are welcome!  Thanks!!!

Hi Princym,

First of all congrats on your upcoming wedding.

There are many hotels in the Mayan Riviera that specialize in weddings but there is also a handful talented wedding coordinators that will help you through the entire process so you can just enjoy your day.

I guess first thing we need to know is how many guests are you expecting? Here are some samples of Christian - Hindu Weddings we've captured to help you visualize your day:

Grand Velas, RMhttp://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=620 (Hindu Ceremony) + http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=622 (Christian Ceremony)

Feel free to send me a PM, I would be happy to offer you some guidance :)

Best wishes!

Hi Princym,

My name is varsha and I was previously an Indian DW bride at Riu Palace RM. I had found that the resort planners were not very helpful at a lot of resorts because they were not familiar with indian weddings and they were very tardy with correspondance so I took it upon myself to do all my own research and plan and coordinate my own wedding from A-Z. I have since started my own destination wedding company for Mexico weddings and offer all services from beginning to end including set-up, decorations, DJ, dancefloor, entertainment, hair and makeup, mehndi etc. If you still require assistance please feel free to email me at fairytaledestinationweddings@hotmail.com or PM me.

Cheers,

Varsha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
