My DIY Welcome Letter / Wedding Day Timeline

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm not quite done my project (need to sit down with the fiance and pick which one we like best!), but have had so much fun putting this together that I have to share!  I'm planning on doing a welcome letter using vistaprint's rack cards and putting a wedding timeline on the back side.  I loved the pics that I had seen online of these, but couldn't find any free clip art websites until I stumbled across www.clker.com.  There are a ton of different images and you can edit them right on the web!  It's amazing!  It took me a few minutes to work out how the editor works.  Once I discovered that the objects were grouped (like you can in powerpoint), it was much easier.  There are lots of different colour effects that you can do too!

So, here's a few pics of the front side of the welcome card and the wedding time line that will go on the back.  All custom coloured and matching!  Not sure which front I like best... will discuss with FH, but any thoughts?  I'm kinda partial to the bright orange one, but maybe it's too much?

They look great! And I love your timeline! I'm partial to the second one, I like the orange one too though. These are my colors too! They are gorgeous together!

Thanks so much!  Love this colour combination eh?  It's great!

I like this too! I've started mine but now I'm wondering if I should have asked the WC at our resort exactly how the timelines usually go? ...like your has a signing of the registrar... Should I add it?

Thanks!  Yeah, my timeline is a bit of a guess at the moment.  Still need to nail that down with our coordinator.  And the order of the ceremony I just copied off of someone else's program!  I have to take a look at our script and see exactly what we're doing.  I think it's pretty typical to have the signing of the register, but definitely not necessary.  I'd say, if you have space, add it - if not, just leave it.

Would love to see what yours looks like when you're done!

It looks awesome!!  I see we were both inspired by the same program posted on Weddingbee!  Yours are super cute.  I like that they're less formal.  Might have to show FH to see if he likes that style better.  I like the idea of a raffia bow... especially if you'll have them on raffia fans.

these are my VERY rough drafts. Im thinking instead of the teal bow on the front doing raffia instead. not sure yet though :/ I printed this out on regular cardstock and voila! lol. I have it set on our raffia fans as it will be at the ceremony.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
