Yea, you should have seen the look on her face when she realized for the first time that she was going to read the letter to the class. I made her write the letter first before we told her that piece of info. :)

It's hard with teens because they become immune to the same old discipline (grounding, etc...). So we started trying to model natural consequences mixed with creative discipline.
Natural consequences: If her grades are low, she has to present a plan to us on how she is going to increase them, as well as defining steps that can be measured to accomplish the overall goal. etc...
Creative discipline: If she disrespects a teacher, which elevates her 'status' at school- then the discipline is going to bump her 'coolness' down a notch to her peers.

okay I have missed a lot on this thread today...will have to catch up but I have to get this out!

Dear Hubby,

A postive at home test means I am pregnant, waiting to find out the same result from a blood test is only delaying the inevitable-you are going to be a dad, and while I know you will be happy about it once it really sinks in, but in the mean time being crabby with me does not help my own emotional craziness.

Dear lab corp lady,

I really meant it when I said I have rolling veins, once a needle gets near them, they don't want to give their blood away. Why didn't you just listen to me and take the blood out of my hand like I said in the first place...now I have a bruise and my arm really hurts.

Also I am really sorry for crying while getting my blood drawn, it hurt when you were digging around trying to find my vein and I am a little emotional right now.

Dear Mom,

answer your phone!!! I want to tell you that you're going to be a grandma!!!!

The 35 friggen' calories aren't making me not lose weight! And going to the gym twice a day doesn't really work for me. I work 10 hours in a busy emergency department - I am physically exhausted when I get home. I cannot even imagine going before work and then again after! You go to work for like 4 hours a day (at most!) and then sometimes do some work at home. I'm working really hard to lose weight - why do you have to make me feel like I'm not doing everything I should? Can't you just say something like "That sucks... next week will be better... you're doing great" ?
I know how you feel. My FI does the same thing to me. then when I try to "fix" something for him he gets defensive. he certainly doesn't listen to my suggestions...even though the things i suggest are the same things he is telling me i should do.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
