Hello brides! I am new to the website as well and still deciding between PB Sunset beach for the catholic chapel and Moon Palace in Riviera Maya. I know complete opposites! What are the biggest things that u guys considered when nailing down a hotel?! Also I wanted 10.12.13 as my wedding date but its all booked would a Sunday wedding be against wedding etiquette? It is Colimbus holiday and most people attending the wedding are bankers. I appreciate any help!

Hi all.. I am interested in a destination wedding at this gorgeous resort.. But I think what I want is a little different than most. We have both been married before - so we are not having a large typical wedding. I would love for family and/or friends to witness it - but most can't afford a trip like this one - so we are really just looking for a gorgeous place.. Someone to marry us and a few nice pics. I don't want to pay $1000+ for something so simple.. Am I dreaming?

Hello SoontobeMrsLiz,

I just had my wedding at Sunset last weekend. Personally love a smaller resort, so we intentionally requested our guests to stay at Pacifica, but we had our ceremony on Sunset Beach, and reception at Skypool.

Yes, you are smart. I didn't realized a lot of things are extra with very expensive price ( not sure what is the price in US, but it is usually double the price of the outside vendors that I ended finding myself through Google....)

However, the stunning venue and great food at Pacifica still made up for the expensive price.

All of my guests loved the resort very much and they all got to spent time with each other, meeting our family and friends.

The only issue is, there are some of my guests didn't stay at Pacifica, and we had to pay A LOT more for these guests.

I would recommend to get prepared with the situation, and get ready to pay double for these guests.

Hope it helps

We recently decided to pull our contract with Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. Maira and Laura were very nice and tried to help as much as they could with locking in details and rates. Ultimately the hotel's lack of flexibility with the room block, outside guest fees, outside vendor fees and kids' fees resulted in us not feeling comfortable moving forward with the wedding there. We had contracted for our wedding at the Pacifica and had our room block at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset. There were just too many variables that we couldn't control and could ultimately end in us paying a lot more money when everything was said and done.

We've now signed with Cabo del Sol and guests can stay wherever they want. All of the fees at Cabo del Sol are laid out from the beginning. For me its better not having to deal with a room block scenario. Not sure if all Cabo hotels are as strict with their wedding procedures and rules as Pueblo Bonito...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
