Concerned Bride using Destinations Weddings.com TA!

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I am new to posting on BDW and I have read some reviews about Destinations Weddings.com and I am now a concerned bride.  I wanted to know if there are any Brides who are getting married soon or next year using Destination Weddings.com to help with their travel plans?  I really feel I should have done some more investigation; hence the reason for my post.  I want to make our destination wedding affordable for our family and friends and want to make sure I get the best service possible.

Both positive and negative reviews are important, so I look forward to hearing from my Brides to Be!

Happy planning everyone!

Hi!

Congrats on the wedding, where are you getting married?

I was also leery about some of the reviews I read about DW online but a friend of a friend used then for her destination wedding in Mexico earlier this year and had great things to say about Lisa Johnson so I requested to work with her and have been for the past 2-3 months. I'm getting married in June 2013 at the Riu Palace Mexico and can't say enough about how fantastic Lisa's been.

She was so quick to get me information on different hotels in my price range and then when she didn't send me info on the Riu, which my fiance and I had looked into on our own a bit she got it to us as soon as we asked. She was also able to get info from the hotel for us and while some people would prefer not to have a middle man, I think it's been so helpful!

I had a million questions in the beginning about things and she has always gotten right back to me...even on the weekends and at night. Our communication has died down a bit in the past few weeks just because I haven't had any questions and she's really waiting on me to send in the signed agreement and deposit for the block of rooms but that should be happening in the next week or so. I'm just waiting to get my send the dates to mail out right when my "site" with them goes live so guests can start making travel arrangements.

I can keep you posted on my guests feedback but so far so good. Feel free to request her when you fill out the application if you do end up using DW, that's what I did and it was not a problem.

Good luck and happy planning!

Karen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
