Okay gals I am back from our beautiful beach wedding. I must say it was a dream wedding. Everything came out amazing and certainly exceeded our expectations. Must admit I was a bit nervous because communication with the wedding planner was scarce before arrival. We arrived 4 days before our wedding. Upon arrival we met with Ms. Gilbert (wedding coordinator) and she was great. I love love love her. She even hooked us up with some extras at no cost. I got my hair and makeup done at the spa. The makeup was very light and natural must admiy though that i Was a bit reluctant to go to the spa because of the prices but definately worth it. I had my hair in a bun with a flower on one side that matched the grooms buttonaire. I went with the floral bouquet and we also got the runner, I wish I knew how to upload some pics on to here because it was just beautiful. We had 16 guests and they all are still talking about how beautiful and how much fun they had at the wedding and their stay at the Riu. The hotel it's self is nice. It is a small hotel as far as the other Riu's we've stayed at The food is pretty good and we actually liked the buffet better than the restaurants which you had to have reservations for. The rooms are nice but they do need to offer wifi in the rooms. You can only get wifi in the lobby and it is extremely slow. Night entertainment Could be better and it ends at 10pm! A lot if our guests walked over to the Atlantis to continue the party! They (riu) have a sports bar which is open 24 hrs but it's barely impossible to breathe in there because of the cigarrette smoke, poor workers! You can order room service anytime of the day which is nice. The beach is absolutely beautiful. That has to be the best part (besides my wedding obviously) of staying in paradise island. The water is a crystal clear blue. We went swimming with dolphins at cove island and it was 100 times better than the one we did in Cancun, totally worth your money. Another night we took a cab to the fish fry and the food was amazing and cheap definitely a must do! Overall it was all I had dreamed of and more. If you are looking to et married I the Bahamas, this is the place to do it. You can't beat the price and the location. It is a win win all around. Best of luck to you all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
