Our wedding will be on the beach and Rosy told me that would take 30 minutes.  After that we are moving to the terrace for a cocktail/canapes reception for two hours.  After the reception, we have dinner reservations for our attendees at the steakhouse when it opens at 6:30.  We are using the hotel photographer.  They have been great to work with and have been very responsive.  The company is Vallarta Adventures.  For the most part, we want things to be informal so I might not be as picky as some on the photography and flowers.  I'm still nervous that everything will work out as I have it planned!  We have 45 guests.  4 are not staying at the Iberostar but we were able to purchase day passes for them.  At this point, everything seems to be in place but I'm still uncertain what to expect with the ceremony, reception, and dinner.  If anyone has additional insight, I'd love to hear it!

You said you are using the hotel photographer? how much are they charging if you don't mind me asking. also, were you able to check out their portfolio or anything they have taken before?

Hi! I just got back from a site inspection at the Iberostar Cancun and I booked my wedding there for February 2014. I met with Rosy a couple times and the resort is absolutely gorgeous! I can try to answer any questions you may have and I would love the exchange ideas with other Iberostar brides!!! - Rachel

The chief photographer at the hotel is named David. His supervisor is Carlos Fregoso and they have been very responsive. They work at the hotel through Adventure Photos. They did send me a link to view work they have done. They also sent a price list for their various options. As an example a full day coverage including getting ready through the reception is just under 15,000 pesos. Packages include a hard cover book, online slide show with music and free shipping. You can email them at ibecancunphoto@vallarta-adventures.com

Hi Ladies, thanks for starting this thread. I am looking to have our wedding in Jan-Feb 2014 and would love to get as much info as possible about the hotel. I love the hotel for a bunch of reasons: close to the airport, tons of flights, huge premisses with tons of activities, kids/teens friendly and the most important - 1 wedding a day. i still have a bunch of questions thou...

1. Does anyone know approx prices for 3 or 7 nights? I understand that price fluctuates, but i would appreciate if you can share what estimates you were given.

2. The Gold package doesn't seem to include that much. Is there a price list for extras? I can't seem to find it online.

3. Is the beach ceremony possible. I would like to have the ceremony on the beach barefoot (kinda a girl's dream :))

4. I read at the website that the dinner is only available in one of the restaurants for 1.5 hours, which is not enough for us. Do you know if the separate area is available, where we can stay for a while dancing, eating and drinking? Preferably separate form general public.

5. This is personal, so please do not feel offended and please ignore it if you don't like to answer: What is your budget?

Again, congratulations on everyone's engagements and coming weddings and thank you for all your help and assistance!!!

Best,

Anna

@zaya you can get married on the beach because that's what i am doing. I don't know much on their packages because i am making up my own and just being charged for what i want. To have your reception in a private area you do get charged a per person rate depending on what menu options you pick. it's for up to 3 hrs (inside in one of there conference rooms or outside on the terrace) and if you want to extend it another hour or 2 you pay an additional charge. You also need to pay for a dj and dance floor separately if you want that as well. You would need to speak to rosie and she can help you with all of the prices and information. My orginal budget was $10,000 but it looks like it is going over but that is for everything from start to finish and our vacation as well. It is definitely a great deal and better than anything we could get in the states. i am hoping no more than $12,000 but we will see.. things add up very fast. hahaha

@rfl100.. you said you just got back from there, did you see any weddings set up on the beach? if so, how did it look? how was the food? i hear mix reviews on the food on trip advisor. Also, how was the nightlife there. i am having my wedding this may and bringing about 60 guests.. most are between the ages of 28-40. we obviously want to go and relax but also party a night or two.

if anyone has any other questions i can help them with please feel free to ask. i still have some myself.. lol.. This has been a horrible experience for me because when i started my planning iberostar just took over hilton and i went through 3 coordinators before i got rosie and now everything has been great with her. so try to just relax and enjoy this whole experience. = )

We worked with a travel agent to get sample prices for various lengths of stay. The agent built a website for us with Iberostar details and sample pricing for us to share with our guests. For each booking through the agent, we get $25 off our trip. Our total for 7 nights is around $3,500 including air. A beach ceremony is possible, that's what I am doing. I'm in the same boat on packages. I didn't really think they made sense so I worked with Rosy to create what I wanted. We are doing cocktails and canapés for two hours after the ceremony and before dinner and that cost is the majority of our expense since we are doing the dinner in the steakhouse (no fee). We aren't doing a dance with a DJ, etc. I wanted things much more casual and low key. With that approach, the cost is around $7,000 and that's excluding the trip cost, but including photography. My wedding there is March 8 so I will update with things I learn in a couple weeks!

ohh very nice. what was the price they gave you on the 2 hour cocktail and how many canapes? where are you having it set up at? i am being charged for the dinner at the hibachi but i think it's because i extended the time. An hour and a half isn't enough for 60 of us to eat. I just emailed the photographer at the hotel so hopefully they get back to me soon. Also,, since you're getting married so close could you please show us some pictures and give us some reviews/tips when you get back. Thank you so much and i am sure the trip and your wedding will be absolutely perfect!! the place is gorgeous! congrats!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
