This is my first post here but I thought I'd join in on the madness :) I am trying to book a 2014 date for my wedding in Xcaret. I have a wedding planner who has been quite helpful. I was quoted around 3 grand to rent the church (St. Francis of Assisi) in Xcaret for 2014. This price includes a trio band and a 1 hour cocktail service (apparently you have to get both according to my wedding planner). The wedding planner is also helping me find a florist. I emailed a few and found that maya floral has the best deals and I love their arrangements. They also said they would deliver and set up the flowers at the chapel and then deliver them back to my hotel so I can use them as a center piece around the tables in my banquet room!

The whole purpose of doing a destination wedding for me was the beautiful scenery and saving money! While vacationing in Mexico, my fiance and I said I love you for the first time so it has a special place in our hearts :)

Hi Schunzik,

I'm in the process of booking Xcaret. How were you able to get the 1 hour cocktail service? I I was told that we couldn't do that. Would love if you could tell me more so maybe I can negotiate too since they are requiring me to also get a trio band.

My wedding planner set it all up. She was able to get the church, the band to play during the ceremony and a cocktail hour. I didn't want the cocktail hour but she said I had to get it!

Since writing this blog, I have scraped the idea of getting married at xcaret. I am doing it in a church in playa del carmen instead :)

Wish I could help more.

Hello Girls!

I am toying with the idea of having our wedding at Xcaret, but I had a few questions I was wondering if you were able to answer...

1) Do they allow outside vendors? Is their a cost?

2) I keep reading there is a "minimum" persons count for La Isla...what is that?

3) Do they offer beachfront locations for wedding? I'm a fan of the church...I want toes in the sand!

And any other useful info you may have :)

Thanks!

Hello travelgal78,

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Yes, they do allow outside vendors, not all of them but some.

2. From now on if you are interested to have your wedding on "Saturdays", the minimum for the Hacienda will be 100 people and La Isla 200 people. ONLY for Saturday weddings.

3. Yes, they have Las Pozas wich is a beachfront location but you an not start your reception until the park is closed because there are people walking around still during day light hours.

Good luck!

Xcaret brides, we just posted our most recent Xcaret Wedding and we wanted to share some photo inspiration with you! It is a truly phenomenal venue for a wedding, elegant, natural, historical, so much beauty and so many great places for photographs. Xcaret always does a top notch job putting together their weddings. Here are some photos from Cindy and Abram's wedding, ceremony in the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel and reception in La Isla.

Never mind...I finally got around to checking out everything the wedding planner sent from Xcaret and for JUST RECEPTION it was over $18,000!!:crybaby2: On top of the fact we only expect like 50 to 60 guests and that didn't meet the minimum for La Isla (which FYI is the minimum for weekdays...it gets worse for weekends!)

So I'm back to square one :dizzy::'( I have a feeling it is going to end up at Secrets the Vine and I'm going to get yelled at by the two families on fiance's side of the family that insist on bringing kids...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
