I am not doing STD I just couldn't wrap my head around sending them and then sending invitations so I am sending just invitations! I ran into a snag though I had pricing from my TA and then she had a death in the family so I am working with a new girl at the same place and she just informed me that the originally lady quoted for November 2012 not 2013 so the pricing has gone up $500 pp I am so mad right now about it, I dont even know what I am going to do, she is looking into different tour companies but I may write an email to head office... that price is not going to work for us and I already have my date confirmed and everything
We travel to Cuba every January for the past few years and have used Sunwing directly. I got a quote for 2013 and the price was so great + so many extras they offer brides at no cost. www.sunwing.com

This link goes to Sunwing Energy!

But that is actually a good idea, I didnt think about going to them directly I guess it would hurt to have them quote it as well! I also want some promise that there will come a time, maybe in April where they reevaluate the cost and since we all know that it is going to come down that they go and make that adjustment to the price! But I guess at the end of the day it is what it is!

I know when I found this forum I was so excited... I think though like most have pointed out, its mostly an american site and they can't go so it makes sense that there aren't a lot of them getting married there! So we all have to stick together!!!! LOL

Jolene - I have heard from friends booking directly with Sunwing was a nightmare because your guests cannot contact them, you have to do all the correspondence, and collect money from people, chase up payments, ask for deviation requests, check spelling and names and make sure your guests all know the correct travel info to bring etc...   Just a warning for you!

Also, most companies do offer a one time price reduction offer - mine does and we're with Transat Holidays, but it has to be done within 60 days of travel, and ours actually never went lower than my group quote.

Cuba Brides - you want some inspiration - check out THESE photos' - AMAZING!  I can't wait to find this place for my TTD session the next day!

Ok ladies great news... after I went on a rampage to the head office of my TA I got them to almost get me back to the price that i was quoted 2 months ago!!! I couldnt be happier and the Western Regional Manager Sandy was great with listening to me she came to Calgary just to investigate everything that has happened to me over the past 2 months (thank god we did almost everything by email) She also got in touch with Transat and had them lower the price $50 a person, but they are also going to provide each one of my guests with headphones and 2 drink tickets... oh the little things LOL

So I am going in next week to pay my deposit and then I can finally get invitations out and be done with this stressful period of the planning and maybe start some of the fun DIY stuff that I have on my list!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
