APRIL 2013 BRIDES

It's driving me nuts! So much of the planning and DIY stuff depends on that final headcount. Money for our hotel rooms is due by Feb 22, 2013 so I still have a bit of time. But that number also affects our budget since our wedding package is for 20 people and we pay extra for every person over that. So far we have about 22 people who have sent in RSVP cards, but hardly anyone has actually reserved a room. And I'm still waiting on many more RSVP cards. Argh!

Hi Alexis! I totally feel you! I am in the exact same boat. But don't worry. People will book their travels last minute. Over half of our guests are going to be booking their travel right before the due date which is 8 days from now. Just send out constant reminders and I found that speaking to them in person helped. And with the DIY depending on the number of guests coming...I'm in the same boat! With your FI's suit, you'll be fine. google search helped a bunch for my FI and I and we found and bought the suits for him and his groomsmen in a week. I found that over stressing made the planning less enjoyable so we took all of December off from wedding plans to take a step back and relax. Everything won't go smoothly but that's the reason for a destination wedding right?

Goodluck! I know you'll be fine :)

Hi ladies,

April 15 is our day at Dreams Punta Cana and we are so excited, although, I must say, I have not been doing what I needed to months ago!!  My dress should arrive around mid February, and the girls get there's by March.... After reading a bunch of posts I envy you ladies who are so organized and started months ago!!! Either way, congrats to all you April 2013 Brides!!!

Hi ladies! Congrats to you all on your upcoming weddings! I'm a May 2013 bride that happens to live in Playa Del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. I saw that there were a couple of brides in here that are getting married down here, specifically DEWed2013 and Lindsay Green.

First, I wanted to offer my assistance if either of you has any questions about the area. We've been living down here for a year now and know the area quite well. Throw any questions you may have my way!

Second, I'm in the process of collecting some decor for our rustic vintage themed wedding down here on May 22nd. I'm having a hard time finding everything I need since the area caters mostly to tourists and doesn't really have a ton of options in the way of home decor. If anyone having their wedding in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum or anywhere in between would like to sell some of their decor items to me please let me know! This may also help with baggage fees on the way home ;)

These are some of the things we are still looking for:

- anything that would suit a vintage or rustic style wedding

- fans in lighter shades of pink, teal, lavender, ivory or just made of wood

- a birdcage (rustic looking if possible)

- string lighting of any sort, exposed bulb and christmas lights

- props and frames for a DIY photobooth (nothing too cheesy, we're think more of a "gentlemen & ladies" style"

- oil lamps

- tin buckets of various sizes

- a parasol in any shade of purple, teal or turquoise

- small glass candleholders

- burlap or lace runners that would fit rectangle tables for 10-12 people

- white or teal paper lanterns

- white or teal paper picado (as long as its not personalized of course)

- anything else that's ivory, blush, lavender or turquoise

Thanks, and happy planning to everyone! You guys are getting really close! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
