APRIL 2013 BRIDES

Recommended Posts

Thought I would start a new thread for my fellow April brides to plan a time to get together during our stay there to share ideas, a social (aka bachelorette evening)-  for all brides who are getting married April, I'm getting married on April 25 at noon on the beach so my fellow April 23-29 brides are welcome to visit and see how it goes so you will have a reference point. Maybe it would be a good way to share some decorations or ideas about activities. I am sharing sashes, runners, and votive and other items with Kristen (or we are sharing cost, I should say) as she is getting married two days after me and the WC said they will hold the items for her until  her time two days later. This might be a good place for others to join up to do the same. thewave.gifIt worked out great for us so it might for you too.

Hi, I'm also getting married in April in Dominican Republic (April 20th), only that it will be at Dreams La Romana - like 2 hours away from Punta Cana. I'm also very excited and sometimes I feel it is far away, but other times I start getting nervous with all that we have to do (we just got engaged in June, so barely starting to find out about all the paperwork and so on). Do you already have your dress? I just started looking for it, and sometimes I wonder if I'll find "The One"!

Good luck with the preparations!

Just to ease your mind, I called the Dominican embassy who translates and reviews the paperwork and they said you want send it until thre months before the wedding as the paperwork is only. I'd for three months. She also said it gets processed within two weeks and that you can go directly through them for everything g you need. R:De dress: I had a dress but as I origi ally had the wedding planned for newfoundland, it was quite heavy and not appropriate for down south. I'm heartbroken as it was the first dress I tried and it was perfect. Even mom said so. What colors are you having? I had dreams first. It the dates were the 29 which had no flight from NL so we went with majestic. Our original wedding date was July 5,2013 and everything was booked right down to pic location. But the big wedding was not me and I decided to go with my heart. My fiancée agreed and we canceled everything and took 2 weeks or more to get a date and resort. I am very happy with our decision. Lots to do but loving the process to no end. Ps how do you do spell check? I'm so spoiled! Two degrees and I can't spell for beans. Lol

Hello Ladies,

My wedding date is on April 26th 2012 at Dreams La Romana! I am very excited!! My Save the Dates have already went out and I am working on my invitations. I feel like the date is coming up so FAST!! All this planning sometime gets my head spinning. I recently acquired the assistance of a TA so that took A LOT of the stress and pressure off of me. Congratulations to all you beautiful brides! I look forward to sharing ideas and inspirations with you!

Hello Ladies,

I am glad I found some other weddings in April. We are getting married on April 18th at the Majetic Elegance and our ceremony is at 4pm on the beach. Our save the date cards have been sent out and we have 40 people booked and confirmed as of right now! Just working on the invitations and they should be out in a few weeks. Bridesmaid dresses are ordred. Grooms and grooms men attire bought and my dress is already in, I just need to wait till December to star tthe fittings.

I am looking forward to sharing ideas with you girls.

Has any one picked a photographer or DJ?

WOW! You have so much done already!! I feel like I have not done anything now... LOL! My Save The Dates are out. I am working on invites as well and plan on sending those out in about 2 weeks. As far as attire, I just had my first dress search this weekend! It was very successful and I did find "THE ONE." As far as photographer goes HDC is looking really good to me but I do have some at home photographer buddies I want to reach out to. My cousin is a DJ so, lucky me! The only thing that sucks about Dreams is that even though he is bringing all the equipment (his stuff) we still have to pay for the "DJ service package" to use the speakers... Oh well. That's life!! What did you do for Save the Date cards?

Sorry I noticed I said we are getting married at the Majestic Elegance but we are actually getting married at the Majestic Colonial.

Yea lucky you with the DJ. Originally we were thinking of going with the resort DJ but I have heard amazing things about DJ Mannia so we are trying to book and confirm him now. Also for our photographer we were booked with the resort photographer (Tropical Studios) but I think we are changing that to Phil Steingard. I have been looking for other girls who are or have worked with him so I can ask some questions. For our save the date cards we just did it simple. We ordered them off vista print and it just has a star fish on the front and back. I also included a travel infor sheet with the save the date cards with our travel agents info and the hotel and stuff like that. I really wanted to do the plane ticket invitations but didnt end up doing that. How about you?

That is amazing!! I have heard good thing about DJ Mannia all over the forums, definitely look into it early so you can have the advantage. I have to figure what to do about the photographer though... I am torn. I DIY'd my Save the dates. It was super easy and fun! I did it in Adobe Illustrator and printed them on magnet paper (who knew that existed...lol) and I was done! I was originally going to be wayyyy to ambitious and do the boarding pass with the magnet but I decided it would be to much. I would love to do the passport invites but I have been reading up on them and they look ambitions as well... I am going to go simple for invites. I want to relax a little but with the holidays coming up I am so anxious!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
