OOT Bags for 100+ Guests- What to do?

Recommended Posts

I think we will ship some of the small trial size items a few days ahead of when we arrive, that way we don't have to pack everything in our suitcase.  Some of the other items such as water bottles and things native to Puerto Rico, we'll just purchase when we get there.

I am having just about 100 guests too.  We ordered factory 21 mugs and I am really happy with them. 100 Mugs takes up about 2 large suitcases. We are having our immediate family take a suitcase of ours each as their second suitcase. We will likely have 5-6 extra suitcases, at $25 each (for all decor, dresses etc), which is a cost that I'm totally ready to cover for my wedding.

Although I bought super cute totes from Old Navy for $1 I wish I would have waited and went the colored paper bag route.. You can dress it up with a monogram stamp or sticker and colored tissue paper. :o)   Also, OrientalTrading.com had paper like bags that say Welcome to Our wedding... :o) so another option.

I decided to buy mugs for all of our guests and are worried on how to get them there.. ugh.. :o( But I dont think we'll have 100 people.. Fingers crossed. lol. I would def consider lanyards if your staying at an AI. You can get a great deal on these in bulk from Ebay. I have a thread somewhere around here with the sellers page. and those are easy to transport. Def a welcome letter and iteneraries. Maybe a card for a photo share site for people to upload pictures?

I'm trying to think simple and light for you.. but def check out the vendors once you get there... If they don't have the quantity of everything you want.. It's possible to do 1/2 quantity of one item and 1/2 of another item. this way they are unique and you have enough "items" for everyone.  chapsticks are a good, cheap and light to travel with idea. Maybe some foods and snacks from your DW area. and best thing about the paper bags, these few items are the thought that counts and will fill up the bags!! :o)   If staying at an AI, you can also request lots of water bottles.. you can include these in your bags and DIY a label to put on once you get there.

The Meet and Greet before traveling is also an awesome idea!  If my family and my FI's family were in the same states, I would def do this! :o)

For your sticker idea:

I ordered stickers for my mugs from http://www.stickeryou.com/ and they turned out great. They are waterproof and sun proof and stick very well. I got a groupon for them so they came to a very good price, but I dont know about their ordinary prices. Shipping is cheap though, I found that shipping was overpriced on many other sticker places such as many sellers on Etsy.

We plan to assemble our paper bags when we get down there; this will obv. take up a lot less space in the suit case(s). Go for small stuff like lip chap, medicines, condiments samples (ex: ketchup, franks red hot sauce, ect.), small bags of peanuts.  Check with your travel agent; mine said the airline will usually give brides some extra storage spaces on the plane. :) I am sure something will work out for you and you OOT bags will be GREAT!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
