BARCELO MAYA PALACE DELUXE

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies, what a helpful thread! My FI and I are interested in this resort for our July 2014 wedding. If I may ask... How is the beach at the Barcelo Maya Palace? I'm a bit confused because some pictures I see nice clear water and some I see brownish water and very rocky beach. Any ideas?

Hello Lori!

Beach at Barcelo Maya is just beautiful, here's a few photos that we have taken from our latest works at this resort:

As you can see, the ocean view is the most beautiful and perfect background!

and this is the chapel, beautiful, nice and open-air

Hi Lori, Have you been to Mexico before? I have been many places and the Barcelo is awesome! The beach is huge and has something for everyone! I've never been to a resort I could snorkel at and even see sea turtles!! There are rocky areas but also sandy areas. As for the color of the water, that changes from day to day no matter where you are in Mexico. It was clear and blue and amazing for everyday of our 14 days there except for the last day some sea weed washed in and it was really choppy and so it looks brown in areas as the sand is churning up. The color of the water depends on weather and sea weed etc, and it's been that way at all resorts and condos I've stayed at in the Mayan, including Tulum ruins which appear to have the most amazing beaches but when I visited there it was murky and dark brown.

First of all I am so glad I found this site!! omg!

You guys are so helpful!!

I am just starting this process because my fiance and i just decided on the fact we may be doing a destination wedding.

So we will be looking over the packages and picking one that matches our head count. Which we are not sure of that yet because we are getting married in October 2014 most likely that may be subject to change we are not sure yet. Any suggestions on a certain time of year? We have been down there a variety of times May, June, and close to July started raining a bit closer to July (tropical season) Didn't know if anybody had any other suggestions on the time of year though.

Any suggestions on starting this process??

I am wondering about the photographer situation it says in the packages photographers are not allowed outside of the hotel? is that true? Same with the DJ and Flowers?  Sorry for acting so new I am little overwhelmed! ahh!

Thanks!!confused.gif

Hi ladies!! Well I chose Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe as well (i fell in love with the Gazebo) and I'm going towards the strawberry package... But it can change depending on the guest. So I have a question how long did it take you all to receive a reply from a wedding coordinator at the resort. I emailed them a week ago with a list of questions and have yet to receive a reply... :(

Hi!  Congrats to all!!  I am also getting married in September 21st of 2013 at the Barceló Maya Palace Deluxe.  I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best photographer to use?  I am not sure if I want to go with Smile Market as the resort recommends.  Any advice from anyone who got married at Barceló???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
