Photography is like a storybook.  You open the pages to see the details.  The cover captures emotion, creativity and leaves you wanting to open the book to read more.  It has an opening, a middle and a conclusion.  Photography is also art to me.  You stare at a picture and see the colors, your eye flows through the photograph, then finally meets the subject.  Good wedding photography captures moments as they happen naturally.   I want my pictures to communicate emotion with the audience.

As a bride, we put so much pressure on everything being perfect when a wedding is simply material.  It looks nice during that day, but then... the flowers die, the dress goes in a box, the decorations are given away or sold, the extra food is hopefully given to the homeless, the music is forgotten...  but pictures are forever.  This is why wedding photography is the most important decision for a bride to make.  It is the only visual memory from your special day.  Wedding photography is my 'storybook' to be shared.

After picking the perfect backdrop for our wedding in beautiful Playa del Carmen, Mexico, my fiance and I are now left to make the next biggest decision - find the perfect photographers! So here is a little backstory and why we feel photography is so important on our wedding day...

The first year of our relationship we spent 8 months of it away from each other - I was traveling for work throughout South East Asia and Australia, and it was during that time I would sit back and reflect wishing we had more photos together so I could mentally and visually relive the memories we had made. Once I returned for good we made a point to make sure we capture all of life's precious moments - and looking back through our photos, they aren't just pictures of us, events we went to, or places we've been together, they are what makes up the story of us. Each time we look back at a photo it's like we're transported back to that exact day, remembering every detail and emotion we shared.

Our wedding day is the next greatest milestone in our life, and I want the day to be focused on us and our new step in life's journey together, but the photography is what will tell us the story and help us relive our special day over and over again. The photos taken will not be just for us to reflect on, but also for our friends, family, one day our children, our grandchildren, and so on. People always say how fast the day goes by, and that its a complete blur,  but that the photos are what make them remember all the intimate details of the day.

Photographers are who a couple relies on to take the special moments from the day and freeze them in time, to capture those moments that will never happen again, and to lace together the fairytale of each couple's love for one another. After looking through your portfolio of memories you have created for so many other couples, I know without a doubt your team would be the perfect photographers for my fiance and I, and we would be so grateful to be selected to work together with you on capturing our wedding and bringing the fairytale of our day back to life over and over again.

Our wedding photography is VERY important to us because it is the only way we will capture such a special event in our lives. And be able to look back on it years and years down the road. We are not the type of couple to take a lot of pictures of ourselves, or even have a lot of pictures up of the two of us around the house. We always find that the best pictures of us, are pictures that just catch us in the moment. There are many times when we are doing something fun and laughing and I wish that someone were taking pictures of us to capture that one moment. That is why when it comes to our wedding photographer we want someone that will capture the "story" of our special day. I want to be able to look back at the pictures and be able to feel the feeling I did on that day.

After our first date nine years ago, I knew that Meaghan was the woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.  She is the most wonderful person I have ever met; she is kind,  loving, and she always puts the people in her life before herself . I know it is a bit unusual for a man to take part in a wedding forum or contest, but I want to do everything in my power to give my soon-to-be bride everything she wants as I couldn't think of any one who deserves this more.  Samuel Luna is the photographer that she talks about endlessly.  I come home from work and she has his pictures up commenting on the beauty of his work and how every moment is caught with such emotion, emotion which is only captured by a true artist.  I want her to have the photographer that she wants because of the quality and integrity of their work, not just someone that she has to settle on due to price.        Meaghan has been there through my hardest times and has stood strong by my side.  My mother battled multiple boughs of cancer over the past year and she took care of my mom like she was here own.  Meaghan would take her to appointments when I could not, cook her dinners and just be there for her to talk to all while continuing to balance work, school, and our own day to day life.  Since my mother still may not be able to attend the wedding due to her health, photography is the absolute most important part of our wedding.   We want her to be able to look at the pictures and feel our joy and feel the love of the moment as if she is there with us.  I want my mother, my family, and our future children to see the story of our wedding and feel like they are caught up in the moments that will always be kept in our memories including all of the smiles, tears of joy, and overall happiness of the day.         Knowing that my fiancé will be able to cherish our memories for the rest of our lives together with such a talented photographer only leaves me smiling.  Being able to surprise Meaghan with Sameul Luna,  the photographer of her dreams, would allow me to make her as happy she makes me.  Thank you for taking the time to consider us for a photography package of a lifetime.

We decided to have a destination wedding in Mexico to honor the groom's mother.  She was from Mexico and now is deceased.  The one thing that I admire about my future husband was his love for his mother.  How he put his life on hold to take care of her.  I admired her for raising such a wonderful man.  However, because we picked a destination wedding and are still on a budget, many of my family members will not be able to attend.  A picture speaks a thousand words and I will like to share our happy moments with the rest of the family who could not attend the wedding.  I myself will also love to go back and look at our special moment together.

Photography on my wedding day is very important. It will give me and my husband something to look back on and remember all the good times we had with family and friends as we celebrated our marriage. It also allows us to share our special moment with those who were unable to attend our wedding, but would love to see what it looked like. The moments from our wedding can not be duplicated and we would love to have them captured so that we can look and back and reminisce when we are old and gray cheesy.gif

Our wedding may be just one day, but like our marriage, our photos will last forever. Entrusting a photographer with the task of recording such an important day is essential to our new life together. Our photos will showcase our commitment to each other as we speak our vows to one another in front of God and our family & friends. Having a photographer there with a unique style to capture our wedding day will hopefully showcase the love, emotion, and fun of the dayâ€s events. The importance of photography on our wedding day is as important as our wedding bands. The photos along with our bands will be a visual reminder of the day our lives changed forever and having the opportunity to have you capture a piece of our love story would make us both very grateful!

"A good snapshot stops a moment from running away." -Eudora Welty

Photography is the most important factor in my wedding. I completely agree with Eudora Weltyâ€s statement above on photography—it is the only accessory in our wedding that could keep those moments from running away. These photos will capture the most important part of our lives together—the public declaration to our loved ones about our eternal commitment to one another. I don't have many pictures of my parents together but there is 1 album I can always count on to look back on: their wedding album. My mother past away when I was 9 years old. I thank god that my six siblings and I have those pictures to look back on and can relive the love that they had for each other.

My father moved to Mexico about 2 and a half years ago to take care of my elderly grandmother.  I live in Chicago with all of my siblings and have been able to visit my dad only once since he has left. It is almost impossible to get my whole family to take a trip to visit him. I look forward to my wedding day because it will be one of the only times where our whole family could get together as one. The photo's that we will have from my wedding day will be cherished by my family. It will be priceless for my family to have captured such moments.

With the moral and financial support of my family, my fiancé and my fiancés family, I will be able to have the wedding of my dreams in Xcaret. I look forward to capturing these moments. Iâ€ve learned that life is short and when we no longer can have those that we love by our side, photographs keep those memories alive. I look forward to reliving the wonderful memories that our union will bring!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
