After 2 months looking for the place for us, we only just confirmed our Wedding this week for Now Jade in May 2013 and we are both so excited!! Mark & I will be travelling over to Mexico from little old Ireland for our 'wedding-moon' on our own. After much thought, we decided we would both love a beach wedding & to venture a little further afield for our special day. We also decided that we just wanted it to be the 2 of us, as it is our special day and it will be so much more personal and romantic. We had toyed with the idea of some immediate family coming, but for a few reasons, that's not going to happen.

We are very happy with our decision & our family & friends are happy for us and very supportive. As no-one will be there with us to share our special day, we really want to have the photos to tell the story of our day as it unfolds.

I am a photographer myself, so a wedding photographer, to me, would be one of the necessities of our wedding day :) I love to take natural, candid, un-posed shots, so that is the way I would like our day to be captured. I want someone to capture the emotions - the happy tear, the anxious wait, the little details, the stunning backgrounds, the beautiful turquoise of the ocean & blues of the sky, the rich colours of nature. I'd love for Mark to see me excitedly getting ready and I'd love to see him, waiting anxiously for me, but the only way that can be done is if someone captures those emotions on camera. As soon as we had decided on Mexico, I immediately started looking at Wedding Photographers there, as not every photographer captures images in a photo-journalistic style that I love. Mark is happy to go with whatever I decide as he knows how passionate I am about photography.

Life through a lens is amazing, you can see so many things in such different ways. I love how photographers can see things not everyone else can and also, make beautiful everyday things that not everyone would readily see the beauty in.

For my wedding day, photography will be at the top of the list. I am only one person, and I can only see so much, and to be honest, the entire day will be a whirlwind! Photography captures the moment and the emotion in each frame. How incredible will it be to look back on all of your pictures with your husband and see the emotion and the moment that each picture captured. It would be like reliving your special day all over again. A wonderful photographer is able to capture the moment on camera just as beautiful as the moment really is at the time it is happening. I know that after the wedding is all over, memories and pictures are all that you have left of that day, and I would love the most beautiful ones possible to show family and friends that could not make it, and one day my children.

How important is photography to you on your wedding day, and why?

Wow! Photography is the only way to capture memories. To have a physical record of this day is beyond words. To be able to capture not only the events, but the emotion of the people during those events is priceless. That being said, photography is one of the most important components of my wedding day. The fact that our families are not only on complete opposite coasts (from Oregon to Florida), my father is in Peru. This wedding is also a family reunion! I can't convey how important it will be more me to relive those moments by looking at my photos until I am old. It will be part of my legacy!

I'm gonna be honest here - I have worked my butt off to get looking the best I ever have - and probably will, spent a LOT of time and money to look absolutely beautiful... and have dreamed of this moment - MY ENTIRE LIFE... I want EVERY second of my day to be photographed by a professional!!  haha

On a more personal note, I live abroad and rarely see my friends and family - These photos will be something I will always be able to look back on and remember that moment in time when we were all together - happy.

Photography on my wedding day is important because I am renewing my vows for my 25th wedding anniversary. The first time my husband and I got married was in Korea, where we were both stationed. I had four hours to get marrried and return to base. We had no time at all to take pictures or anything. The second time is when we renewed our vows for our 10th anniversaty in Kenya Africa. I was determined to have pictures and video for this one. Well I gave my video camera to one of the saff memebers and showed him how to work it and though we were good to go. Well neddeless to say he did not know how to work the video and took video of the gorund, we heard the ceremeony but did not get to see it. We did get one picture that was taken by one of the hotel guest that they mailed to us. I have three sisters that are already married and my Mom have their wedding pictures on her mantel over the fire place. One year my Mom acyually asked me to put on my sister's wedding dress and take pictures so she can have a picture of me in a wedidng dress. I promised her that on my 25th wedding anniversary I would renew my vows in a gown and she will get her picture of my husband and I in our wedding attire.  So finally having actual wedding pictures will not only be for us to enjoy later but for my Mom.

My Fiance and I strongly feel that photography is one of the most beautiful forms of art. The right photographer can capture not only a moment, but a feeling, and that is why having a great photographer at our wedding is extremely important. We want to look at the photos and remember every moment, but most importantly, we want to feel what we felt during those moments over and over again. We are so in love with each other. I know that our wedding day is going to be one of the greatest moments of our lives, and of our love.

Personally, the photography on my wedding day is one of the most important aspects, as it captures the moments, experiences, and memories of that special day.  My wedding day may be the best day of my life, but having those pictures to look back on and remember those beautiful memories is absolutely priceless!  Important decisions made in planning a wedding such as choosing a wedding dress, flowers, decor, location ( I could go on!) are all aspects that make that special day come to life, but extending those precious moments and everything they include through photography is absolutely priceless!!  I want to be able to sit down with my future children and look through my wedding photo album with such ease, happiness, and contentment knowing how all those beautiful details and moments were captured to last for generations of people to view!!  What better feeling than to sit down with my future husband and family, look back on our wedding day photos, and feel like we are brought back to that place and moment in time!

The answer should be: VERY Important. I would only get one chance (hopefully) of capturing my wedding day, so it is wise to have a professional wedding photographer for what is going to be a priceless moment.  I want to look back fondly and remember just how perfect my wedding was, how happy all of my family and friends were and I donâ€t want to look back regretfully having to wished I could have hired an experienced, professional photographer. Itâ€s fine to have family and friends bring a camera and take photos of their own, but at the end of the day having professional quality photos taken using professional equipment will produce results that I will be able to treasure for years and even share with my future generations. I will spend many months planning my wedding, and it will cost many dollars, for just one special day, I think of all the planning that goes into this one day, it is an event like no other. The wedding day is the start of the rest of my and my fiancee lives together. There are so many great photo opportunities at a wedding that do not present ourselves in many other occasions.  When it comes to wedding photography it is important to me to chose the best photographer for my unique wedding.  Each photographer has their own style, I would let my photographer know what I want and what I expect to get great images that I will be very grateful and happy with. Only my wedding day, the photographer will be 100% focused on me through all of the moments. They may take photos of my flowers, the table plans, the decorations, but they will always know where I am and when, right up until itâ€s time to leave. A great photographer will be able to present my images in a professional and beautiful way, putting together a full story of my big day. Whichever way I want to look at it, wedding photographers will always be an essential element for my wedding package..if not one of the most Important parts of my package! My photographs WILL be how I'll remember my wedding years from the time of my wedding.

I hope that this photography will be able to replay the wedding for all of my family who will not be able to attend.  My grandmother would love to be at the wedding but will be unable to do so because of certain disabilities.  I am hoping that this amazing time of my life can be recreated for her when we get home.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
