Fans for the ladies ... what for the men?

Recommended Posts

We have decided to leave a sandalwood fan on each of the ladies chairs for the wedding ceremony but I'm not sure if we should have a similar gift for the men?  Don't think the fans are very manly but not sure what we could use as a substitute, has anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks

The fans may not be very manly, but trust me, if it gets hot, they will surely use them! It's the ladies that will probably hold on to the fans and keep them for more sentimental value though.

We are placing a raffia fan on each seat as well. But the fans will serve a dual purpose. They will have the wedding program on it as well as the guests can use them to cool off. I am sure that the men will refuse to fan themselves because the thought of a fan may too girly for them; I think if it gets hot enough, the fan will serve its intended purpose.

The raffia fans are lovley and I love your idea of incorporating your wedding programme on it too.  I spent ages searching for those fans but cant seem to get them in, or shipped to, the UK (for a resonable price)

I totally agree the men will definitely be sneaking a little fanning for themselves but I thought they could share with their ladies seeing as they will appreciate them more.  It would be nice to give something else for the men ... maybe handkercheifs?  Is that a bit weird? I'm thinking sweaty + photos = need for a hankie!

Hankies are a great idea!!.. Sweat is def a no bueno! Wondering how you can place them in their seats without them flying away though?.. :-/ I'm giving everyone packages of kleenex in their OOT bags but I'm sure many will forget them for the ceremony.

I'm planning on placing fans on each seat. I bought Raffia fans from OrientalTrading.com, wrapped the handles in orange ribbon and made pink bows for all of the fans, but put them on with a straight pin if the guys want to take theirs off.

My fiance and I went to an outdoor wedding a few weeks ago and trust me... Guys will def use the fans!!  My fiance got himself one so that he could have the breeze.

+1 of all the DW that I know of, if fans were utlizied they were provided for all guests ... but I like the idea of hankies too!

Koyal Wholesale sells the raffia fans.. :o) Not sure if they deliver to the UK though. :-/

You could make a bin for unwanted fans.. Just a thought. And then you could sell them once you got home to get some money back. :o)

Now that I think about people sweating, I wonder if we should come up with items for everyone.. hmm.. I def don't want to see sweaty people in our photos. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
