how are you including your step kids

I think we are going to do a sand ceremony as well to include his boys. We aren't having any attendants so a sand ceremony (or something like it) would include them.

Good thread!

Our children are the only ones in our wedding. All will be participating in the sand ceremony to blend our families. I like the idea of fiance giving the girls a necklace as a gift during the ceremony. Mini vows could be a nice touch but don't want to make the ceremony too long as guests sit in hot sun.

My two boys are walking me down the aisle (they will be 9) and my step son who will be 15 will likely stand up next to his dad as one of the groomsmen, but at this point he said he doesn't want to "stand up there for that long"... Teenage boys! Ugg... FI could care less if his son doesn't want to be a part of it- strange relationship... He will be dressed like the other guys in the wedding party and will be in all the photos etc... If he decides not to stand up and be a part of the actual ceremony- at least we tried. My boys however are excited!

@@kmk2016 I love that your sons are walking you down the aisle, it's a great way to include them. I have a 10 yr old step daughter and I want her to feel that she is an important part of our new family. I will have her as a junior bridesmaid, but I think I want her dress to be a different color than the BP so that she feels special. I want to take her shopping for the dress I really hope she feels special and included in the whole process.

@@kmk2016 It's not that long!!! Teenagers forsure!

My twins will be the flower girl and ring bearer respectively.

My fiance doesn't have any kids, but treats mine like his own.

Well we just were told by my stepson (the one turning 15) that he is not interested in standing up in front of everyone and really isn't keen on being a part of the ceremony in any way...(he's happy we are getting married- but just uninterested in being a part of the "event".,, just wants to come and watch. Lol. So I'm going to push him past his comfort zone somewhat and make him do something that blends our family together but we will see what that is since my two will definitely be a part of it and I'm not changing that. • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
