My Invitations - Need Help on Final Cardstock Backing...new to partial DIY!

Recommended Posts

Hello BDW ladies,

I have my invitations printed out now and I want to dress them up a bit!! Sorry about the rotation on the second one, I couldn't get it fixed. Take the poll and help me and the fiance decide!

Here is the invitation with the orange cardstock back. 700

700 Here is the invitation with no cardstock backing..so "as is"

700Here is the invitation with the white cardstock backing (well as of now this is the envelope, I am just using it to get an idea because if I do nothing and go with the invite as is, then this "backing" that is actually the envelope will be what I send.  I do however, have a love bird stamp that I am going to put on the back of the envelopes.)

700So if we go with the white cardstock, I'm going to buy the orange envelope. So here's an idea.

Alright, what do you think? What should I go with? Thanks for all your help in advance!!

Hi AllieRay,

When I saw the first photo my initial thought was "Oh that's super pretty as is, why does she want to mess with it?" Then I scrolled further and read that it was the invite with the orange backing which clearly I love! LOL By itself is nice also but feels as though something is missing and I wasn't crazy about the white backing so I definitely vote for the orange cardstock. As for the envelope, based on 780chick's reply I'm curious to see if the orange cardstock with orange envelope will have that WOW factor or be too much. Would you mind posting a pic of them together? Although I'm sure the white envelope with orange cardstock will look fab as well.

Thanks everyone for your comments/votes!  I really love the orange mat.  The fiance is voting for the white mat and the orange envelopes....he thinks it flows better with the white from the tree and the lines at the top since they "run off the page."  Passionsarcasm, here's a pic of the orange.  The problem here, is unfortunately I was comparing oranges with the samples so the cardstock back and the envelope here aren't exact matches.  The cardstock I felt matched the lettering the best so I had the guy at the paper store cut this one out for me. BUT problem 2...the matting does not have a matching envelope :( So I would have to change the matting to go with orange cardstock and envelope....but hopefully this gives you an idea of how it would look!

I kind of agree with the Fi on this one - white mat and orange envelope.  By any chance is there and option for a pink mat and orange envelope? Are you making a bellyband... maybe that could be orange.

No matter waht you choose, I think they will look fantastic, just a matter of persional preference.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
