Brides and future brides..Destination:Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana :)

Recommended Posts

Hello to all future brides and new brides! Im new to this site and glad i found it. im getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe Punta cana April 13th 2013, we fly out of Montreal on the 10th, with our family and friends, and fiancés family from England... when we arrive there we have 3 days to prep, wedding on saturday and then over to the Esmeralda side for our honeymoon the following week... Im super excited now even though its 8 months away...I emailed the hairdressers as my hair is one of my BIGGEST concerns, im very picky with my hair and worried i wont really like it...we are getting married on the beach so i have asked my coordinator if its possible to have a carpet so i can somehow manage to wear heals lol...We have chosen a private reception, with the DJ and now im debating if i should go with the photographer on site, which seems to have a contract with GBP. Looking forward to hearing and suggestions, tips & details about your special day...or upcoming one! :)

Welcome and Congratulations!!! I'm also new to this site. I'm also planning my wedding in Punta Cana :) I'm happy for you and hope all the planning goes well especially with the carpet for your ceremony. I'm also worried about my hair so lets just hope for the best lol! I wish I could fly my hair stylist to Punta Cana with me but she has a business to run of her own. I'm having my wedding at the Majestic Resort on May 25th, 2013. Feel like it's just around the corner. I'm leaving NYC 3 days as well for preperation. Wishing you all the best to you and your future husband.

I'm getting married at Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana on May 1st. We're leaning towards the Gazebo for more privacy.

Does anyone know the difference between the Iron Gazebo and White Gazebo?

I've stayed at this resort twice before but can only remember seeing the white gazebo.

Any advise from past brides, I appreciate it!

I'm dealing with the wedding coordinator Paola. She's a bit delayed in writing back sometimes but then quick other times. I much prefer quick responses!

I would seriously think twice about your wedding location ladies. I just read this crazy news article about a Canadian couple's dream wedding turning into a nightmare from hell. Her husband and cousin are being held for three months in jail in the DR. Read this article.

I heard about this the other day. Such a sin! That wouldn't stop be going anywhere though. If you read polices articles before you went anywhere, you'd stay home forever. I've been to DR twice, Bahamas twice, Vegas 4 times, New York... Clearly all places that aren't the average safe place. Don't let this scare you brides :) people can get in a middle of the night drunken fight anywhere, including in your home town. Just warn your guests to stay out of trouble. There's always those who like a fight.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
