I am recently engaged and starting to look into possible locations for a destination wedding. i am in between Riviera Maya, Mexico and Montego Bay, Jamacia. I sort of also want to look into St Thomas & Aruba but i have a feeling that will be extremely expensive for my guests. Anyone have any input on any of this? Oh also here are a few of the resorts i was looking into

Jamacia

Iberostar
Riu
Secret

Mexico

Royal
Dreams
Barcelo Maya
Riu Palace
Azuels?
El Dorado

Any help would be sooooo greatly appreciated =)=)

Hi breetuti2,

Congrats on your engagement and of course choosing a Destination Wedding!

I was married in the Mayan Riviera and it was beautiful, we chose the Now Jade Riviera Cancun and it is a fantastic resort, we also just returned from another vacation a couple of months ago we loved it so much.

When it comes to choosing your resort it comes down to a lot of different aspects such as the budget for your guests, what style of resort you are looking for, is your preferred wedding date available etc.

The Mayan Riviera is rated #1 Destination Wedding spot and it offers amazing prices and high quality resorts so that would be my recommendation.

All the Best : )

Have you considered the west coast of Mexico? Puerto Vallarta or Punta de MIta area? Does it have to be a resort? Most brides now are going in the private wedding venue direction and of course stay at the resort but have the wedding in a separate venue.  www.martoca.com can help you with your planning advice.

I have a friend who is a wedding planner in the caribbean and can help you as well. If you like I will tell her to email you.

Happy planning.

Jimmy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
