Yeah, we are in the same situation.  Our wedding is at Moon Palace Cancun on Friday August 10th.  About 40 of our guests are scheduled to fly in on Wednesday, the day Hurricane Ernesto is projected to hit.  I'm not going to worry about the rain, but I am concerned our guests are going to be stranded in connecting city airports overnight on Wednesday, and not be allowed to fly into Cancun until Thursday.  Its basically a nightmare.

There is better news this morning about Ernesto for Riviera Maya bound brides. Although it is too soon to breathe a sigh of relief, the computer tracking models are starting to show a landfall to the south around the Belize/Mexico border. Please check this site for their daily post. It is one of the most accurate sites to follow and the one that we check a couple of times a day for updates:

Jeff's prediction is for Ernesto to remain a TS and pass to the south of us. Tomorrow's forecast will be more accurate in that respect. With luck, it will only mean a rainy Wednesday.

Good luck.

The probability of Ernesto missing the Riviera Maya is now pretty good.

However, the forecast is 70% chance of rain for Tuesday and Wednesday, 40% for Thursday and only partly cloudy for Friday.

Make sure your resort has decent backup plans for your day in case it does rain.

Enjoy your week in our beautiful neighborhood!

Yup!  The weather was absolutely beautiful for the wedding and trash the dress session I had.  Beauitful sunshine :)  The hurricane did some damage, but nothing too terrible that we weren't able to work around it

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
