wow, i think it is romantic to have a wedding ceremony in that place. How i envy you! I am also considering to have my wedding ceremony at a romantic place. Maybe a beach wedding ceremony is best for me. What is the main theme of your wedding ceremony?

Hi Valerie,

We just came back from 4 nights at Hacienda Tres Rios with my fiancé's two children and have very good things to say. The rate they quoted us for our wedding accommodation is $179 per person, per night, but that is all-inclusive. What I liked the best about it was that it was definitely family-friendly, but didn't feel overrun with kids/families; there was also an adults-only pool, so your guests without kids can also feel comfortable. (Bottom line: I would stay there even if we didnt have kids.) If you plan to do your wedding ceremony and reception all at the same place that you intend to use as accommodation, then Hacienda Tres Rios will be a great choice because they have lots of available venue options--from a river-side terrace, to gardens, to dining rooms, to beaches and private lagoons--that are really great! We are having our ceremony and reception off-resort, but several events will be on-resort (welcome cocktail, rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch) and I'm very happy with the venue choices, and the supplemental price per person for each of these fully-catered private events is really helping us control costs (a supplemental charge of $20 per person means that for our 60 guests, it will only cost us $1,200 per event.) Finally, each room can accommodate several people if your guests want to share rooms to control costs; there are two queen beds and a sofa bed in each standard room.

Otherwise, the Paradisus La Esmirelda is beautiful and has both adults and family sides, as does the Real resort chain. I would also recommend the Omni Puerto Aventuras as a very budget-friendly, family-friendly option! There is tons for guests to do in the little village there.

Good luck!

Lydia

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
