Asking my Bridesmaids - Bridesmaid boxes!

Recommended Posts

I'm sure almost everyone has seen these very cute, "Be my maid?" boxes on pinterest or just around the net...

I bookmarked these along with a few other DIY projects along the same lines but decided that these boxes had to be made for my bridesmaids.

I was very nervous because whenever I see something beautiful online and try to recreate it, it usually ends up looking like something a toddler put together. But I am very happy to say that with A LOT of patience, they turned out amazing!

I got the cigar boxes and lettering from Michael's. I spray painted the boxes white. Got a sample of Disney paint from Home Depot, and some map wrapping paper (to line the bottom) from Paper-Ya.

Because we're getting married in Mexico, I made sure to include a mini-bottle of tequila with a tag that reads "Break in case of emergency."

A great victory for my DIY self-esteem!

Hey LaurenR,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but this thread doesn't show up on my feed for some reason.

I put in colour swatches for what colour dresses I wanted them to find. Some pictures of mismatched bridal parties I liked for them to get an idea. I also put in sheets with info on our day (it was kind of redundant after the save the date) what i wanted them to do, which was mainly support me and look great, who everyone was and why i chose them, and then what i wanted them to do for their dresses and shoes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
