Hello!

Just looking for input on when to send out official invitations. My wedding will be on 4.27.13. Save the Dates were mailed out and received by 4th of July, 2012. Guests have to pay for their rooms in full by February 22, 2013. I was thinking of sending out final invitations in early November, before the craziness of the holidays and to give people who might have forgotten/not realized that final payment was due in Feb a few months to save. Does anyone think that's too soon/late? Appreciate any input!

This is where I have struggled the most, I don't think that I understand the STD I mean once I have all the information I though I would send out invitations, I guess I am missing the STD reasoning!!! I was thinking that I will send out invitations and then do a reminder letter just before the trip needs to be paid in full!!!

Basically I'm sending a save the date b/c several people going need to request off work very far in advance and start saving $ now so the STD just lets them know the date so they can start planning and saving. I also have our website on the STD so they can check that our frequently. That is where I post any and all new info I get regarding rates, travel etc.

My wedding is Mid January 2013. I sent out save the dates right after we got engaged (Mayish) so people could rally plan. I am sending out invites this month, with a return date by mid October, so they can think about it for a while and I have a little over two months notice. Final payment for us is due early December. With destination weddings, I really dont think there is such thing as too early, or too much notice (or too many reminders!)

My wedding is Mid February 2013. We sent out save the dates 18 months in advance and then again 11months in advance. I am sending out invites in early November, with a return date by January 1st.   Final payment for us is due December 5th. With destination weddings, I really dont think there is such thing as too early, or too much notice (or too many reminders!) I also keep everyone updated with our wedding website.

Congratulations! My coordinator advised that it's best to send out the actual invites 6 months before the actual date, so looks like you better start getting them ready to go out in August....Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
