Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Brides 2013

Hi Everyone!

We are looking into travel agents right now and the one stated for our wedding in June, our guest should start wrapping up their reservations with them around the 1st of the year. We have just gone through some agents located by our home and haven't gotten any perks or deals. I am going to look into Fun jet because (albellis) mentioned some perks so I wanna see what they can do for us. Albellis we are thinking of shades of orange and pinks.. I like the flowers you picked. I haven't heard of real touch flowers though something to consider. I know that I am planning to bring my own chair ties and table runners, and some material for the wedding arch huppa thing. Because they only decorate that with white material. We are also thinking of the Japanese restaurant for our rehearsal and the steak house possibly for our reception.. I also wanna have welcome bags for our guest. A lot of things we wanna do lol but need to actually start working on!. Ok ladies talk to you soon! Happy wedding planning!!!

Hi Krista,

I'm jealous that you have your dress already! I won't be looking for mine until mid-October. My understanding is that you can have a private reception if you want, but you will have to pay for it. I don't have the price sheet in front of me, but I think it's around $800. And you do get a welcome/rehearsal dinner if you want one. I chose to have mine at the Japanese restaurant since I thought it would be fun and casual.

The colors I am using are orange, pink, fuchsia. I am using real touch flowers and once I found a bouquet I liked, I used that as my color palette. I don't have a picture of MY bouquet, but I have a picture of my maid of honor's below. I liked the fact that I could hold onto the flowers after the wedding and keep them with our wedding photos.

albellis - where did you find those real touch flowers? And did you assemble it yourself?

I ordered all my flowers through http://www.plumeriasweddingflowerboutique.com/ and they came assembled. I found out about them from this website, so you can search the forum for some ideas. The woman who owns the business (Roberta) is selling it and training someone else to take it over at the end of the year, but she may still have some openings for orders at the end of this year. I am really happy with how they turned out and the price is so much better than using real flowers. The picture below is from her website and is the inspiration for my bouquet.

For me It is a LOT cheaper, which is pretty much the only reason I'm doing it. Plus I can't bring real ones back to Canada after anyways and these ones I can keep. I think thats the big reason for many brides too.

I made my bouquet for $100. I donno what the resort florist charges to upgrade but I've heard that it is a lot (around 200). I probably would have been fine with the resort standard one but would have had to order bridesmaids ones anyways and didn't want to pay any delivery fees (and Ive heard that the florist is kind of a shit head and I dont want to support them haha). I bought my bridesmaids for $8 each, and the resort florist wants around 60 each (and there are 3 of them). I will likely make my own groomsmen bouttoneires too since resort charges 18$ a piece.

But I'm not a real flower person. It blows my mind that people spend several thousand on flowers in Jamaica!

Oh...that is a lot cheaper. But the site that albellis recommended charges around the same as real flowers it seems.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
