Hi All! New to this site and planning my upcoming wedding in the Bahamas for May or June 2013.

Just wanted to see if I could ask all of you Atlantis Brides what to expect there in terms of cost. I'm having about 75-80 people.

If anyone else has any suggestions for an amazing resort/venue in Nassau/Paradise Island area I would LOVE to hear them!! I'm currently knee deep in venue research right now and I'd love to hear some 'real opinions lol.

I would like to keep my total budget to 15-20k.

Thank you and Congrats to you all!

Hi there! Congrats on your engagement and up coming marriage!!  i'm sure you're super excited that it's just a few months away!!

I'm new here and am at the same place you were it seems when you started the planning process! we're booked to stay at the RIU paradise island for our wedding at the end of November 2013! and are expecting approximately the same # of guests as you 75-80... plus have the same budget in mind!

Was wondering where you ended up booking your ceremony/reception??  We are set on the CLOISTERS for the ceremony, but have found that the pricing at Atlantis and O&O beyond our price point.  At this point in time we may just do the reception at the resort, but in the private ballroom... however, not sure i like the setting of it...from the pictures i could find on the web, it looks like your regular convention centre ballroom.

any tips? research ideas?  any info on other reception venues would be helpful!

hey ladies!! Congrats on the up coming wedding.

I'm getting married in July so I'll let you know how it goes. Give you the heads up of what worked and what went wrong. lol

ddbx524... when went to the Bahamas and spoke with Atlantis they told us it would be min $150 per person. I don't know if that changes depending on the venue you choose because they have some beautiful spaces!

BahamaMama2013... I forgot to ask you... Did you ask about doing the reception on the outside patio?? I'm just not sure if you would be able to have a dance floor, or if it only holds up to 50 people? We were considering this but I forgot what they had said.

JSLM - just double checked all the info that was initially sent from RIU and no, only ballroom available for private reception.  Think this will likely be our best choice....

I've stayed at the RIU when my bestfriend got married there in 2009...she only had 25 guests, so did the beach ceremony with semi-private dinner.  It's a conveniently located hotel, and easier that it's an AI resort.

how's the rest of your planning going?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
