Next, you NEED to try the dresses on! Well... not true for everyone, but I had SO many dresses picked out on-line and when I tried them all on I hated almost every single one of them! Quite amazing actually. So, start calling around and find some shops that have them.
my thoughts exactly: 1)you have quads!?!?! wow - i saw 4 babies too, and thought that you couldn't decide on halloween outfits!!!

2) you MUST try them on. i picked out a dress from david's bridal that i was definitely going to get, yadda yadda...so i go and it's atrocious. the way it looked in person, the fabric, the way it looked on - the only way to describe it was EW! i like the first one the best, prob. b/c i've never seen it before, and i know for a fact that i tried on 2 and 3. i'm a big fan of dresses that are less popular, but hey, that's just me.

i say go try #1 on but keep an open mind and try on anything that your friends/family/salesperson throws at you.

Savannah, can I make a recommendation to you. I know that alterations take a while to do, but since you have about 18 months until your wedding, I truly recommend you wait. I went shopping for dresses about 6 months before my wedding and still wound up changing my mind about 4 times (literally)

my first two were really casual and my wedding location and style changed so I went with a third very ornate dress which about three weeks before my wedding I had a complete panic attack and realized that it was too ornate for my personality not to mention the fact that it was really heavy material (something you should consider for the time of year you are getting married in Mexico). I wound up with a beautiful dress and am glad I bought it last minute.

However I think you first need to go shopping and just try on dresses and then see how you feel. You might like the look of something online but when you put it on its just not you.

Also don't feel bad about changing your mind, if I could have been one of those girls to wear three dresses at my wedding I totally would have. There are so many beautiful dresses out there.

I am no help at all because I love all 3 of them! The third one is actually one I considered for myself and did try on, its absolutely beautiful.

but as the other girls have said, you should go to a bridal shop and try some on. I actually really liked trying on dresses, I always went by myself and just tried a ton of dresses, I also went to three different stores. And if you have some that you've found online that you like you can ask the store if they have them and try them when you get there.

The third one is also very very similar to a maggie sottero. I can't remember the name of it, but its basically the exact same dress.

You ladies are the best..you really are. So much insight, it really helps. You've all been here before, and know what can happen, so I'm going to take your advice.

I'll round up a few dress names/style numbers that I think will suite me and that I like. I already got the number and address of a shop that carries Maggie gowns, so I'll start with them, and if nothing from her line works, just branch out to whatever they suggest. Because of all you've said here, I'm NOT going to buy anything right away even if it just floors me when I put it on. I'm going to go home and let it marinate in my head a while. hehehe

Oh ya! I actually went up to ask FH what he thought, though I knew I had to phrase it carefully. He doesn't want to see me or my dress until The Day. So I just asked him "Would you prefer to see me in like a traditional wedding gown, or something more unique. He said "Different", so I'm going to keep that in mind and keep looking for gowns that aren't too princessy even though there are so many of those that are just beautiful.

BTW, heres another one I found looking through the M.S. site. That woman is a genius. I'm hoping in a big way that I try this on and can pull it off. Can y'all just imagine this dress in a pearly ivory color? Make that four dresses I have to try for sure now.

I LOVE #1. But then again, you really do need to try it on and see if YOU love it. :)

I looked at hundreds of dresses online, and fell in love with many. I would try them on and hate them on myself. The one I eventually chose was the one style I didn't want. Go figure. But now I love it! So, do try the dresses on and just see how you feel in them. Good luck!

I voted before I read anyone's response, and I can see I am in the major majority. I picked number 1. I absolutely love number 1. I think its stunning and the others are just okay in my opinion. You have to go with what you like the best on you and what feels the best, but I think number 1 is perfect because its formal yet beachy. I love it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
