I'm having the same problems you are as far as hair/makeup goes. I'm not sure if I should go with the resort when it comes to this. I am trying to look for makeup artists around the area, but it is a difficult task. Let me know if you find anything!

Seriously, check out the Majestic Elegance/ Colonial Brides Facebook page. This topic has bring brought up so many times and they do an awesome job on the hair. You can check out pics there! I am definitely getting my hair done there. :)

If you want to look at outside vendors, there is a Canadian Makeup artist/ Hairstylist that goes to Punta Cana in the Winter and she's very popular. Her name is Krystie Ann and she also has a Facebook page. I looked into hiring her but she won't be there during my wedding. Don't quote me on this, but I'm sure I read on the Majestic FB page that you have to pay her $40 cab fare as well as the $300 vendor fee!

Is the Majestic Elegance Brides fb page the closed group or is there another one?

Oh yes I think it is closed. Jamie Dimitry ( A Canadian photographer) is the admin for that group. Are you able to request to join? Also, the Colonial Brides is great because there's a lot of brides on that one. Let me know.

Thank you @pokeyholly! I was able to find it and send a request. I have another question, do you know if a makeup artist has to pay the $300 vendor fee, or can we just get them a regular guest day pass?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that they have to pay the $300 fee. Apparently this just changed recently with krystie Ann. You could ask on the majestic FB page. That's crazy expensive eh?!

The resort salon does an amazing job on the hair. I'm not worried at all. It's so convenient too! You have to think, they do this every day....wedding hair. They know what they're doing so just bring a pic of what you want!!

What about the makeup? I have heard from a couple of brides that say that they put too much on. I'm not sure what to do with the makeup situation. The last thing I want to have is too much foundation!

Ya I'm gonna do my own make up. I plan on going to Mac and getting them to do my makeup and then I'll just try to duplicate it on my wedding day. I definitely don't want too much makeup! Especially eyeliner.... So that's my plan!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
