Hey Butterflyeyes! I was wondering if you could tell me your airline carrier. I've been going back and forth with my travel agent regarding the child rates. When I initially received the quotes, I didn't even look at the child rates. Our rate from Toronto in July is 1560 but the children's rate is 1465 Wtf!! It just doesn't make sense. I'm sorry but I had to check your website to look at your rates. At first my travel agent said its the resort that doesn't offer discounts on kids. But I'm thinking its actually air Canada vacations. That's ridiculous!! I'm really frustrated because my SIL wants to bring our 3 nephews from Toronto but each fare is gonna cost almost the same as an adult! Has anyone else had to deal with this?

Hello My Fellow Majestic Brides!

 

Newbie here... just joined this website to get some ideas and stumbled upon this thread...Yippee!!! I'm looking to get some add'l ideas, share my ideas, and meet some other brides in the process. 

 

To be honest, I'm feeling overwelmed with everything...so much to do with such little time

 

Here's what's going on so far for my big day...

I'm getting married on Saturday, 4/27/13 at 3pm at the Majestic Elegance Gazebo; Pastor York will be performing the Ceremony

Semi-Private Dinner at See & Sea followed by a Reception at the Wet Bar with DJ Mannia.

Phil Steingard is our Photographer and Core Films is our Videographer.

We just booked the Dominican Trio for the Ceremony.

Our color is Claret (Deep Red) with accents of varying shades of Pinks and Purples.

We've booked the Elegance Club Swim-Up Suite

 

We have 40 people officially booked/confirmed...and after my calculations, we secured the FREE Wedding Package with 105 nights booked as of today!!  Woohoo!!! 

 

I'm planning on taking with me...red chair sashes, red table runners, and red linen napkins (www.weddinglinensdirect.com); Centrepieces, which consist of square mirrors with cylinder vases, pearlized rocks, floating candles, flower petals, votive candles with glass votive holders.  Basically, the vision is vases with the pearlized rocks filled with water and a floating candle; vase on top of mirror to reflect light with scattered red/purple rose petals and crystal pieces around the vase.  Everything is super light weight for my luggage and I have 3 close friends doing the decor set up for me the day of the wedding : )

 

Also taking an aisle runner, the OOT bags, items for OOT bags, fans/programs, place cards with DIY place card holders (3 wine corks tied with red ribbon), bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, cake topper (haven't picked one yet), and who knows what else, haha!

 

What is everyone else planning on bringing with them? 

Any ideas, tips, or suggestions that you've discovered that you'd like to share?

Where is the best place to purchase OOT/Welcome bag items?

Have any of you reached the hotel directly and requested a group discounted rate for rooms for you and your guests?  If so, who did you speak with and how did you make out?  Presently a week stay is costing me and my guests $1,800.00 which averages about $257.00/night.  I emailed the hotel 2 weeks ago today and no one has gotten back to me!  Not happy about that.  It looks like i'll have to make a phone call.  Please let me know your thoughts suggestions and tips.  Thank you! Sorry, just seeing your message now. Our trip is with Nolitours (Air Transat). It was actually a West Jet rate but my travel agent got Nolitours to match it. Air Canada Vacations is usually the most expensive! Perhaps you have to play with your departure date to get the best rate. Hey ladies,

  I just recently got engaged and we are looking at the Elegance, we will be vacationing there in April for 5 days to check everything out.  I have been in touch with one of the their wedding planners about choosing a date.  She just let me know a date we want was available, however the judge won't be putting out his schedule until March or April.  Our goal is to get everything going to give all of our guests a big enough heads up to save up the money for the trip.  I am just worried that if we wait the month or two for the judge to respond, that if he says no... we won't be able to get a date in April 2014 like we had wanted.  I gave the wedding planner my info so we have a reserved date as of now, but what happens if the judge falls through, has this happened to anyone?  I would appreciate anyone's response, thank you so much girls!

HI!  I had the exact same dilemma!  Since they booked you, you should be fine.  My judge came through within a few weeks of requesting him.  You will probably hear back before you know it (with good news!)  Good luck!  Let me know if you have any questions, I have been dealing with ME for almost a year now, only 2 1/2 months till my big day!!!  :-D
