I'm so happy right now me and my soon to be husband Mike just booked our wedding for July 12 2013 at Riu Ocho Rios. We decided to go with the FREE package which is actual $500 but it includes the wedding planner/coordinator (who is so HARD to contact before the wedding smh)  Decorations for the ceremony location a bridal bouquet, a matching boutinnere for the groom CD or recorded music for the ceremony semi private dinner at the steak house (if you have less then  40 guest) Wedding cake and sparkling wine for the MAIN TOAST ONLY. There is also an additional fee of $10.50 pp after 10 guest. And u also got to cover the minster or judge fees which can add up to $100 US  dollars .I read about a bomb fires after the dinne rthat some brides did  but when i spoke to someone from RIU she sid they NO LONGER offer the bomb fires so im gonna go with the private dico for 2 hrs which is $650 for 20-50 ppl which included an open bar bartender and a DJ. This is perfect for me because I'm on a budget and to think about it this would actually save me money !!!!!!!!! So the 1st hour of the disco we are going to do our 1st dance father/daughter dance mother/son dance cut the cake  bouquet and garter toss the 2nd hour str8 partying. It my seem like i got it all together but actually  I DONT  i need a little help i need some help for decorating the table at the semi private dinner. I also need help with the OOT BAGS what do i put in the bags i thought about putting 2 personalized water bottles a personalized t shirt for each guest a welcome note a travel size sunscreen playing cards personalized stemless glass and a snack is this good too little or to much stuff please help

Congratulations! I have a question for you.  You qualified for the free wedding but how many guests did you end up having?  Was it just $10.50 per guest after the 10 free people?  Does that $10.50 only give the additional guests champagne and cake?

Do you have any pictures of the ceremony?  I would love to see them, thinking about getting married there next August.

Congratulations!

I have a couple questions for you!  Do you have any pics of the ceremony?  I'm thinking about getting married there next August.  Also, for the free wedding you CAN have more guests than 10?  You just had to pay $10.50 for each additional guest after 10?  How many guests did you end up having?  We're thinking about 25-35.

Congratulations on your wedding!  I am getting married the month before.  I have been able to get in touch with the wedding planner.  If you are still having issues, let me know I will be glad to help you.  I am also doing the free package, but have a lot of guests, so it is costing us a little bit more, but definitely worth it!

Also, when it states "decoration set up for the ceremony location", are the decorations included?

Any one had contact from Micheal, photographer Riu recommends?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
