Yay Nikki!  Congratulations! We are wedding weekend twins, as I will be getting married the day before you.  (We have the same goals as well---I will be so glad to get the deposits over and done with so I can do the fun stuff!)

WOW you're doing great!! I just got confirmation on my venue that it's available for my date, let the planning begin!!!! Speaking of bikini I am starting a 30 day challenge today, even though I have a year I figured I get the hang of it now
What type of challenge are you doing? Maybe we can all do it!!! I started insanity last week and its hard but I'm already noticing a difference in my clothes. But I think it's a given that wedding stress equals pounds lost!

When we booked our trip and paid the deposit she got a PIN number that she can apply to each reservation that gives a discount. We also get a free room for each 6 rooms booked, I believe ( I think that may be thru the resort, not Apple) We only had to put a deposit down on our room. Guests book and put their own deposit down and have until Sept. 1, 2014 to make payments. I didn't want to put out the money for guest rooms....I figure that if they really want to go they have a year to make payments!

We didn't do a room block.provided our TA info in std & wedsite. Guests were welcome to book on own or use TA just asked them to say they were with our group if booked on own

OK, coll, thanks for the info. I'm in touch with a TA and see what kind of rates she can request.... I;ll out on our website that they can use her or book on their own too,

Total savings, $147......I think that was a smart choice. Also, as of today we officially saved enough to pay for the ceremony, and my dress has been paid for already. Now to work on saving for the OOT bags, extras, rings, and honeymoon LOL Although we do have half the honeymoon paid off too

I was going back and forth on this because  I could not find enough pics on it but I finally found the perfect thread on it and I am convinced!!!! Now on to finding a not too big All inclusive resort for our guests... something where we will not get lost, LOL and its family friendly ( and of course not too expensive) any suggestions???

When I went to Playa Del Carmen last year we stayed at the Riu Palace and had access to all of the Riu's in Playa Del Carmen, there are 6 in Playa Car and they range in price and size but are for the most part walking distance to each other, except one which is on the golf course. The Riu Palaces (there are 2) are nicer than the other one's and not too big (in my opinion). I consider the whole Riu chain family friendly and budget friendly.  If you're looking for something closer to 5th ave in downtown let me know. These are in the playa car section of Playa.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
