Good thing you listened to your friend huh?!?!?!  I pretty much knew when I met my FI but I know lots of people where it took longer but everyone (I hope anyway) eventually has that moment where you say...this is it, he's the guy for me.

I'm really not sure what I wanna do... my Mom lives there so I might plan a trip to visit her and we can go dress shopping together... I think she really wants to be there with me. My step mom ... who lives in New Hampshire REALLLLLY wants to go with me.. she has said something a couple of times... The first time she was like. "Can I go dress shopp. . . Oh right never mind you have a mother" then said sorry for asking.. it was really funny. She has no daughters so she is dying to be "mother of the bride" BUT part of me just wants to go by myself and then if I have a couple I reallly really can't decide between get a second opinion. Hmm I guess we will see . . . sounds like I will be safe if I wait til the end of this/beginning of next year to worry about that!

Oohhh pictures... I wanna seeeeeeeeeeee cheesy.gif

My belt is slightly different but here is the dress...

The back is really pretty too, it dips down pretty far it's elegant but yet still sexy, in my opinion and SO comfortable

Wow....i thought I was the only one that thought grass felt completely weird on my feet....LOL!!  I don't mind concrete or other flat surfaces but grass just feels strange and awkward.  Glad to know i'm not alone.

Hey RaynDrop - I'm having a small wedding but never really cared to have bridesmaids. We have just 22 on the guests including immediate family and 6 friends each) I didn't want to choose among my friends (because then that would be the whole guest list! lol) and when I mentioned to my sisters "if I did have bridesmaids, it would be you 2", they kind of made a face like "really?? why us?" We get along but aren't that close. I think they expected me to pick my friends over them. It's weird because they are super excited about the wedding and will come with me to look at dresses and they've talked about organizing a bridal shower/bachelorette party so it's almost like they are unofficial bridesmaids ... My FI thought it was weird I didn't want a bridal party bc he wants (or thinks he should have a best man) I told him I'm totally fine with him having groomsmen if he wants - we don't have to be even. My friend got married with 10 groomsmen and only 4 bridesmaids!
Oh cool sounds like we have very similar wedding in the plans here. I like the idea of it being so small that everyone will really get to feel like they are part of the wedding... We are each only having 1 friend... and the friend we each chose is prefect because their other halves are our good friends too .. so really we get 4 of our very best friends. I told my friend that even though I'm not doing a wedding party she is my honorary Maid of Honor, which is exactly how I would have done it had I done a wedding party... my sisters would have been bridesmaids. I don't think my FI had an opinion either way... So because of the no wedding part/ very small guest list thing.... I am asking everyone to wear white/light beige ... I have a couple of reasons for this.... Are you having a dress code??

I've done a lot of online browsing so I know what style I like (fit and flare/trumpet) but who knows if it will actually look good on me. I've also researched a bunch of stores in NYC to check out - tempted to go to Kleinfeld's just to try on but there's no way I could afford their dresses!
Ohh that might be kind of fun just to say you did it : )

ohh I agree! I also am assuming beach only even though I've seen pics of gazebos and piers. No garden for me, I can't stand the way grass feels on my feet (I know I'm weird lol) It creeps me out bc I feel I'm standing on bugs, ants and dog poop! I'll probably go with flat sparkly sandals although tempted to go barefoot - I'm OK with sand on my feet! lol
Hahah cute! Have you seen barefoot sandals? I think they are really neat... I would want to be barefoot if on the sand but I love the idea of a little accessory :) My only concern with barefoot on the beach is that I have read stuff where the sand is too hot to do so... anyone else heard of this problem? Hmm sounds like I should get a pair of flat sandals too (darn it more shoes hehe)

I thought it was too early to start shopping for wedding dresses and was planning to go around Oct/Nov.. Well come to find out, this is actually when I need to be looking for a dress for a July 2014. I'm soooooooo excited because I just scheduled 2 appointments to go try on Maggie Sottero dresses!! It's really hitting me, after a year long engagement and another year to go, that it's finally happening!!!!! AAAHH!
Yay!!! hhehe

Check out Ebay they have some decent priced ones (new of course) also if your looking for something pretty and simple and like pearls they have some at AC Moore.... they are like six bucks - plus you can always get a coupon for 40 or 50% off. I have also seen ok priced ones on amazon... they have lots on etsy but they seem more pricey for the most part. I am either making my own (I already have purchased all the swarovski crystals for them or i found a really blingy pair on ebay I like.

Ladies, Have you ordered cake toppers and serving sets yet?
This is another thing I haven't decided on wanting yet. The flowers on the cake I like from the resort are pretty so I think I might just stick with that. I did see some Swarovski letters that I like... But if I did a letter it would probably be the first letter of his last name.... However... I'm not sure I want to change my name so that wouldn't really make sense. Anyone else decided/ing on not changing your name?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
