I thought it was too early to start shopping for wedding dresses and was planning to go around Oct/Nov.. Well come to find out, this is actually when I need to be looking for a dress for a July 2014. I'm soooooooo excited because I just scheduled 2 appointments to go try on Maggie Sottero dresses!! It's really hitting me, after a year long engagement and another year to go, that it's finally happening!!!!! AAAHH!
I love maggie sottero dresses..my top dress picks are hers

ohh I agree! I also am assuming beach only even though I've seen pics of gazebos and piers. No garden for me, I can't stand the way grass feels on my feet (I know I'm weird lol) It creeps me out bc I feel I'm standing on bugs, ants and dog poop! I'll probably go with flat sparkly sandals although tempted to go barefoot - I'm OK with sand on my feet! lol
Goodness not weird at all I am the same I hate it..don't even like grass touching me with shoes on. I have seen some really pretty barefoot sandals I want to wear..Didn't imagine how pricey they were.

I've done a lot of online browsing so I know what style I like (fit and flare/trumpet) but who knows if it will actually look good on me. I've also researched a bunch of stores in NYC to check out - tempted to go to Kleinfeld's just to try on but there's no way I could afford their dresses!
Same here love Randy on say yes to the dress. Judt want to have a kleinfields experience

I have 5 bridesmaids altogether and no groomsmen. But I'm thinking i'm going to end up with just 2 bridesmaids and my MOH (my sister) I've also been sending emails to them. 3 of them are sisters so I don't know if they just appointed their sister as the ambassador or what but only 1 of the sisters responds to my wedding related texts/emails while 1 doesn't respond AT ALL and the other 1 responds only to baby shower related questions (she's pregnant), It's FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!
I can imagine that to be quite complicated especially wit no cooperation. You should give them deadlines like Hclibby I think it was said. Or just let them know if they don't want to cooperate they are gone.

I would be heart broken if I did not get the beach for my wedding. that is the soul reason for me to have a destination wedding. If i wanted a garden I could have easily found a garden here in the states!
That is how I feel too! I just know that the other locations are probably going to be gorgeous and I might fall in love with them. Hopefully my FI will have an opinion and it will be BEACH! hahaha

You have PLENTY of time to find a dress but just make sure you start shopping at least 9 months before your wedding.  I just barely made the cutoff for not needing to do a rush order because I had 8 months to the day. The designer I chose has a 6 month turn around time and the boutique likes 2 months for alterations (since you live near me you should totally check them out they have a great selection-Bella Sera Bridal in Danvers). Luckily my dress is coming in faster than they thought so I'll have plenty of time for alterations! I had picked out a dress online that I loved but when I put it on it just wasn't me or what I was going for. I actually ended up buying the very first dress I tried on (after trying on a ton of others) and I'm still so in love with it.  I look at pictures and just can't wait to wear it  love.gif
Oh thanks! When I finally suck it up and go I will keep that place in mind. Although I may have to go to Maryland to shop.... I'm really not sure what I wanna do... my Mom lives there so I might plan a trip to visit her and we can go dress shopping together... I think she really wants to be there with me. My step mom ... who lives in New Hampshire REALLLLLY wants to go with me.. she has said something a couple of times... The first time she was like. "Can I go dress shopp. . . Oh right never mind you have a mother" then said sorry for asking.. it was really funny. She has no daughters so she is dying to be "mother of the bride" BUT part of me just wants to go by myself and then if I have a couple I reallly really can't decide between get a second opinion. Hmm I guess we will see . . . sounds like I will be safe if I wait til the end of this/beginning of next year to worry about that! Oohhh pictures... I wanna seeeeeeeeeeee :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
