Hi There!

I am also a 2014 bride! YAY! :) I am getting married at Le Blanc in Cancun. I have also contacts travel agent Wendy(per recommendation of another bride), and she seems really good. We are working together to develop a package to my guests. Le Blanc can be expensive, but I just love love love their site, and can't see myself getting married elsewhere. I just pray to God she'll be able to work her magic and get back to me with some awesome package! Or else, I may have to start looking at a different hotel..! :(

I am looking into some photographers based on seeing other brides' wedding photos in the Cancun area. One is Del Sol, and the other one is Elizabeth Medina. The photos are amazing!!! You should look into it :)

Congrats to all of the 2014 Brides, and Happy planning  everyone!!

:)

I guess every bride feels the same way though so hopefully something can be worked out so long as you don't have any bridezillas sharing your day. I also worry about seeing other weddings on my wedding day, I don't want to feel like I'm on a conveyer belt ha.

Glad we thought the same about the 4pm slot, do you have a photographer in mind yet? Again there seems to be so many options and none of them are cheap!

I converted your Canadian $ price, if I can get a similar quote for my £ I will be happy as it's about what we've told people as an estimate. Like you, we can't afford to pay for people to attend but are hoping most will treat it as their yearly holiday and then we get all our guests there. I think if we don't make the 75 room nights we will take advantage of the dinner included in our package and find a place to chill out with our guests as it will be a far more intimate wedding.

Sorry to be nosey, you're a little further ahead of me with the planning so I'm intrigued; have you had many people pay their deposits yet, and have you had any guests you thought were guarantees who are not so definite now the time has come to pay? That's my biggest worry for now and making it difficult to budget. I have asked our friends to be honest and if they can't come, it's absolutely no problem, but could they let me know early? So far everyone is still on board but I am braced for drop outs.

Thanks for your help!

Dont worry about being nosey, that is what this forum is for! haha.  It is perfect that our dates our so close so we can share tips and tricks!

I invited about 60 people being realistic after talking to my guests and giving them some time to look over our wedding wedbiste with all the details, I am thinking there is going to be about 20-25 people who are forsures.  We have only had about 5 or 6 couples make their deposits but I kind of expect a bunch to do it at the last minute (Our group reservation block with the travel agent is valid until mid May and the guests have until then to pay to secure their spots).  There have been quite a few people who are not able to make it which has been pretty dissapointing but I chatted to my fiance about it and we realized that the big day is about our love and it doesnt matter who is there or not, we just have to go with the flow and let it all pan out. It is a bit frusterating not being able to get forsure yes's and no's from people now but once the May deposit deadline comes I will have a pretty good idea about numbers because they deposit was only 200.00 and it secures the group pricing.  I cant imagine many people not wanting to snag the good deal early.  Anyone who hasnt paid there deposit then are probably not planning to come.

I agree Krista. You would think that since it's destination it'll be a tad easier! WRONG! Its all that more stressful because you are at the mercy of other people at the resort LOL.

Congratulations - my future husband's name is Chris as well. And he's awesome! I know your Chris is too as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
