Any other 2014 brides here getting an early start?

Hi girls. We are planning on getting married in spring of 2014. We were thinking February either in Dominican or Cuba. All of the travel agents are telling us different things. One travel agent said I should narrow it down to 3 resorts in each different location and she would contact the resorts in order to get a price. Another travel agent from a different agency said to wait until the prices come out for the resorts in order to compare prices and find something within our budget. I always thought I would have the resort booked a year in advance and I see alot of brides have been booking that early. Have you been contacting the resorts yourself and dealing with them without a travel agent? Any info on your experiences booking your resorts and how far in advance would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

It almost sounds as if they are being a but lazy. My agent priced, compared and brought several (at least 10) destinations to me in deatail and it was 18 months in advance. Also she didn't ask me to bring her resorts I told her what I wanted and she found it. Offering pros and cons. I would look elsewhere, try the BDW travel agents I hear they are amazing!

I went dress shopping today, wow I managed to try on 5 dresses today (crossed out 3 dresses that I thought it looks good, but it is not me). Unfortunately they didn't allow to take pics, but the sales assistant was nice enough to let me taking pictures at the end with one of them, the one I like the most, and I LOVE this dress, however I don't think it's "the one" yet. It is Demetrios 1443. What do you think of the dress? Please ignore my hair and the bra at the back, I'm in diet to loose few kgs.

I am also getting married in 2014. I am leaning towards April, but am hesitant to book my date yet because the travel agents are unable to quote me exact prices yet. Anyone else have this problem? I am thinking Now Jade in Riviera Cancun. They are telling me that the airline prices wont come out till about May.... How do you book without knowing how much its gonna cost for your guests to stay!??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
