My friend just married there this past November. It was absolutely beautiful! She booked 1 year out but November is low season. July is actually considered high season for Punta Cana which I didn't realize (I guess because it has the least chance of rain). This means that you may want to book sooner rather than later because these resorts are at full capacity in July! My friend also said that the prices for Hard Rock got more steep as time went on...she was happy they booked early or else their guests would have paid hundreds more for flight&stay. Just an FYI!

Having lived in the DR for 8 yrs, I can say that Nov is much more comfortable than July........It's different if you're going to be mainly inside in the a/c, but usually in the tropics, you're mostly outside. That's been my experience anyway, so thought I'd share.

WOW Cherina......your dress is exquisite! and I absolutely LUV the colour too.........great choice!

........all the best to everyone, and hoping you all have the amazing wedding celebrations you wish for! Enjoy :)

Hey Girls,

I went dress shopping this weekend but I haven't found the dress. Cherina, I'm also looking at a Maggie Sottero as the possible "one". My save the dates are 90% done and i already ordered the OOT bags...I couldn't pass up the good deal. I know this isn't the forum for this...but if any of you are thinking of OOT bags...here's the ones I got....

http://ziggos.com/products/flip-flop-canvas-tote-bags

Oriental Trading has the same ones $17 for 12....so when i saw .69 each, i snatched it up!!!

MissJali I am on the OOT hunt. I am leaning towards getting handmade local bags to support the economy in Negril, give my guests an authentic local gift to take home and eliminate me having to transport the bags. Lyman I know Jamaica is not DR but I believe the weather is general similar so how's February ??? Oh and ladies thanks for the dress complement! I love it because I am not a tiny girl and she makes me look like a pinup.

I totally agree! If I could, I would definitely book PC in November! Rates are so much more affordable and hurricanes are pretty unlikely! Unfortunately, as a teacher I'm limited to Christmas, Spring Break, & the summer for booking. So...July won that battle hands down!! eclipsee_gold_cup.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
