Oh that is a good idea to pay for your wedding party ... if you can end up doing that. I have no wedding party - so I either pay for everyone or no one I guess haha

I have considered doing something extra like an excursion for the parents only actually... but I'm just not sure what I want to do yet.

is it standard to organize an outing and pay for guests? I'm not having a wedding party either ...

a catamaran cruise sounds fun

I didn't have an engagement party too late now. I figure we've been together forever and already have children. I really would like a bridal shower though. Bachlorette party undecided on.

no engagement party. and i'm pretty sure my sisters and friends will throw a bridal shower and bachelorette party. The bachelorette party will be more like a spa day or wine tasting at a vineyard as opposed to going out clubbing though ...

Thanks ladies! I had no intentions on getting pashminas. Now I think I am. These are helpful sites

I know most people don't have access to the prices on Canal Street in NYC, but if you can get to craft fairs and festivals, most of the vendors there should have pashminas for around $5 each. Also, some dollar stores that sell clothing have them for that price. I've got about 20 that I've bought for myself over the last 2 years and I didn't pay over $7 for any of them. :-)

I ended having a few minutes to kill and was near one so I ran in... ended up buying something I'd thought about adding but decided not too..then I saw them at the dollar tree a few stops ago but told myself I didn't need them... today for some reason I said screw it and bought them... I mean I only spent two dollars HAHA

Mini Loofahs - FIVE for a Buck ... assorted colors per pack.. all bright and tropical : ) Of course this now means that I will have to make another trip to bath and body works for some fun body wash eek.gif

I am going to have to pick those up for all the girls, what a great idea! I know I always bring one with me when I travel but most people don't think about it.

I won't be buying any body wash though, I'm not as nice as you. I figure between what people bring and what the resort gives them they'll be okay, I do really like the idea though, it'll be very cute together.  I went there a few weeks ago though and they have a really nice new Caribbean scent that might work really well!

Are all of you ladies having or have had bridal shower, bachelorette, engagement, etc? If so when and details?

Engagement Party: No (I also refused to do engagement photos, I know they're really popular right now but they aren't my thing and my fiance was fine with that)

Shower: I've told everyone I didn't want/need one but I know they will throw me one anyway.  My mother, sister and bridesmaids have already been talking about it, I just hope it's something simple. I know my mom wants to invite family friends and stuff but I feel awkward because they aren't invited to the wedding.

Bachelorette: Yes, that and dress shopping were two of the things I was most looking forward too.  I'm doing mine a little earlier than normal (Oct for a Feb wedding) because I didn't want to schlep around in the snow and be outside in the freezing cold. We're doing dinner at nice restaurant, an improv comedy show that caters to bachelorettes then getting drinks after.

I have a rather large wedding party for a destination wedding and they're really into planning stuff so I guess I'm lucky there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
