Any other 2014 brides here getting an early start?

Did you pick a place yet? I saved $143 doing my own invites and i love them. I bought some stuff from past brides for next to nothing, use coupons and groupons!! Check out etsy, ebay, amazon, the forums here. And keep posting bc when you get to 150 you can open attachments

I agree with you moody. I've saved a ton. I mean a ton by using etsy, amazon, ebay and yes tons of stuff from past bdw brides. I've learned a lot from everyone here.

I did Barcelo Bavaro Palace, just waiting on the WC to get back to me confirming the date. I emailed her today and somehow she thought I wanted April when the email and the request form clearly said July! Uhhh now I have to wait for her to contact the priest again. Thanks for the advise. I need to look out for the groupons and Vista print sales. I know about the attachment thing is so annoying but I understand why they do it. I try to take notes of attachments I want to get back to after I get access if people don't email it to me.

yes, the ladies on this board are totally awesome, we've built such a great bond. I wanted to do diy things, but in the intrest of time, some things i just decided,wasn't worth the headache. by the time i bought alot of the materials, paper, cut, fold, make sure it right font, wording, score it,etc, i was like ohhhh heeeeeeeee...... naw. lol, but i do have a few minor diy things like stamps for my envelopes and doing other little things like labels for my tumblers.  i'm doing a very very very informal  ahr, will be large bbq/seafood boil, and also have jumbo tron lawn screen for us to do movies on green, just let people enjoy themselves in their own element.

Love your AHR idea sounds fun. I would love that kind.

tyrebride, i know you tryna say i make everyone shop? lol, but i promise i am probably the most thrifty and cost conscience  person in this thread. primarily be cause i don't have the financial means some of these other brides have. i can promise you, my wedding is under 10k promise. i decided to do oot bags but only for my wedding party because they can get very expensive, and doing gift bags with party favors for guest. dollar tree, has been my saving grace , ebay, etsy, supergiftplace to just name a few.

Now now shug, I wasn't saying you only..lol.. My stay alone is running me over $10k with us and the kids but there are a lot of us. I am definitely do not have the financial means as a lot of you brides. So I have to cut cost wherever I can. I did pay for STDs because I wanted to get them out so guests could olan accordingly.

Well I can definitely say that I haven't spent a dime yet. I'm still working on my budget, but I'm gonna hang out over here with ShugaPop and her under 10k wedding. *side note* do you know what I could do with 10k?!?? Think of all the hang bags and shoes.... I digress. Anyways I'd like to keep my budget at 10k it sounds reasonable. I still need to work on the budget & guest list. But I'm assuming bc it's destination, some of that will work itself out right? Is it wrong for me to assume that I can just invite however many people I want. Please stop me now if I'm living in fantasy land. I'm excited to make OOT bags & Pre-departure folders. I just hope it stays in budget. I have a notebook that I journal & jot notes in so that I don't forget and I have a place to record stuff

I agree shug's plan is one to stick by. I don't think it's bad o invite who you want but it can go either way.because it is a DW not as man will probably come. But you know your friends and family so you have to do what's best for you. The boards have great DIY threads for everything that are very resourceful. They will definitely help out.

i officially finished my invites!!!!! Welcome to the new girl! Forgot to tag your post my wedding is well under $10,000....everything ive done for the wedding including my dress invites etc is $5,000. Where are you from??? Cant see since im on my phone!
