I said absolutely not b/c she has money and we are not shelling out another $600 for someone who can clearly pay for themselves. And tech we're not even paying for my mother b/c of the 6th room free deal with our resort. They give us the money back, not as a credit and before we go so it would pay for my mother's room. Just annoyed with ppl lately LOL

I hear ya! Nothing like wedding planning to make you feel annoyed with practically everyone hahaha

oh boy, tell me about it! Got into a huge fight with mom last night about not inviting aunts and uncles ... this was after all of you ladies picked me up and said not to second guess myself ... my mom is trying to sneak people in  ... She says "I understand you want a small wedding ... but you have to invite so and so!"

We kept going back and forth about it...by the end of the conversation she just said "do whatever you want to do but think about what you're doing - is it right?"

ugh! hissyfit.gif

Tell her that it is right for YOU and YOUR future husband, remember this is your day and no one else's and in the end that's all that matters. We keep telling everyone we are having a small intimate wedding with immediate family and close friends only. Most of them get the hint

I am all caught up, so much happens when I sleep and work! After all my wedding drama last week I spent the weekend doing (AKA ordering) little things to perk me up about it.  I ordered the flower for my hair, a 'Mr & Mrs Sign' for our sweetheart table and earrings for my BM as well as swatch samples for the clutches I'm going to have made for them. I spoke with my sister and sorted things out, only she will be coming, no kids and no BIL. To further rub salt in my wounds after she knew I paid for her and her family and then she decided not to bring her family, she then tells me she's so happy because she has enough frequent flier miles that her plane ticket will be free.  What drives me nuts the most is her and my brother in law have money, he's the Chief of Engineering for a city and she's a manager at a hospital. Honestly I should have never offered to pay for her and her family, lesson learned doh.gif The resort is reimbursing me some money, since it's now one adult in her room and not 4 people...I think I lost about $75 in their penalty fee. I'm sure I could've fought harder but I just didn't have the energy. I just want to let it go and move on.
Sorry to hear that

Cindy,

I sure did! I found the bikini on walmart.com $5 for the top $5 for the bottom and bought the rhinestone transfers on ebay for about maybe $6. $16!!! compared to the ones online selling for $68

The robe I found on Amazon for $14 i believe plus the rhinestone transfer $7. total $21!!! Compared to the ridiculously expensive robes I've seen online and I really had a hard time because i wanted jersey material, not terry cloth, something light for DR.

You're getting married at BBPD? Depending on the reception location, like me, im doing Bar Higuey, I'm not bringing any decor except my centerpieces, picture frames and my colored napkins and sashes for the chair ( i want 2 colors). Bar Higuey with the package I have comes standard with the cloth draping in the ceiling. So no lanterns for me. waste of money I was told.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
