Good news all around! Glad things are working out for you! We are at the beginning of planning and it seems a little overwhelming....I thought this would be much easier than planning an at home wedding, but now I realize a DW has it's own challenges! Oh, well, I guess nothing good is easy!
I'm sooo glad its all working out Yes dw can be challenging too but so worth it. Oan. I just got my invites and RSVP delivered today and they are beautiful

Time to put more things on ;) More exciting news I did a test print of my DIY passpord invites and RSVP's and everyone in the office loves them!! Gotta work out a few kinks and than I'm going to print them!! And for the last of the exciting news we are going to visit my MOH in Florida Oct 5th-8th and her friend is going to do our engagement pictures for $40!!! WIN

awesome! I'm going to do a test print of my StD tonight! I hope it goes well.  And great deal on the engagement photos!I haven't even started to think about registering. My FI didn't really want to bc he didn't want gifts since people will be flying to the wedding but I mentioned (and I hope this doesn't sound like I'm fishing for gifts) about the rest of our family and friends who will not be coming to the wedding.

I'm doing online RSVP only, and I was told "that is SO improper." TO me: it saves trees, and both FI and I are tech nerds, so online is best for us. Our STD even has a QR code to scan that takes you to our website..lol

I'm doing mail-ins bc I'm doing a mad-libs reply card but I think online is totally fine. Tha;ts really cool you set up a QR code!

I put the dates I suggested people arrive and depart on our website but I have a few people staying a full week because they're turning it into their winter vacation. I'm okay with that though because 2 days after the wedding I'm flying to FL and going on a 12 day cruise.

My suggestion would be to switch resorts if you can

Thanks, we really like our resort so we won't want to switch but I think I will also include suggested dates on the website. thanks for the idea!

My wedding is on a Friday so most guests are saying they are staying until Monday coming thursday. So im not sure how I would handle. My cousins husband did express wanting to stay for a week but she told him no already because it would be our honeymoon. Hopefully all guests will respect that if not.our resort is large enough for a few to remain wouldn't bother me. How long are your sister's planning on staying?

Secrets isn't a huge resort so I'm sure we'll run into people here and there. I'm not sure how long my sisters plan on staying but they are def giving off the vibe that it's a vacation for them .... hopefully they get the hint if I add suggested dates like hclibby suggested ...

my fiance and i are getting at our resort on a thursday and will be there a week(till the next thursday) my wedding is on that saturday. they way  I politely did it was i sent email saying to my guest that they were welcome to stay as well as they like, but that most people will come in on that thursday with us and leave that sunday(day after wedding) or come in that friday and stay till that  monday so that kinda diverts them from wanting to stay entire time we are there.

For those of you who are still getting out save the dates and invites (like me!), here's a neat little service that I've been using:

https://www.postable.com.  You just send your friends a personalized link and they fill in all of the information (address, spouse name, etc.)  It's so easy, and one of my friends said it was very straightforward, easy to read and very cool.  (And the best part is that it's free.99!! LOL)

I have my dress....AND that's it hahah

Don't feel bad. I have put a deposit on my venue and wedding planner, but still need to put my deposit down for my photographer (just waiting for new bank card) and resort where people will be staying.  Oh yes, and finish working with my designer friend on save the dates! But, the link above will definitely make things easier.

Well I spoke to my fiance's friend and he said the wanted to stay for a week but that he wanted to bring a few of his "boys" so he can really take it as a vacation.... :-/ I cannot tell me guests not to stay for a week or what not but that is spring break and I did not sign up for that. The extra people he decides to travel with will NOT be attending my wedding... THERE IS NO WAY. and that's not even the problem, I am pretty sure that my fiance is going to want to go hang out with the "boys" and there goes our honeymoon. I guess that is the bad part about all this.

Maybe I should look into switching resorts after the wedding ughhh.

Jessica-You absolutely need to strongly consider switching resorts after the wedding. If you start now, you can do your research and start looking for great deals. Nip these issues in the bud right away!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
